#64991, "30lb injectors with SAFC or SFMU"

I have a friend thats selling his SAFC for $150, which is pretty cheap. Now I'm planning to go one of two routes 1) SAFC($150), 30lb injectors ($100) and a recal disk for my FMU($35), probably 8:1 OR 2) SFMU($250) and 30lb injectors($100). THanks

maybe this is over kill but i'm goin to be using sfmu safc2 and 30lb injectors... i mean that should be enough to fine to the shit of my set up. but i dont think either way its really goin to matter. james is using 440's and sfmu i believe so i dont think theres a huge need for the safc just that i had it so i installed it. i guess it could just be used to look after things instead of actually using it.

Yes...use both.

With my car...with 30lb injectors in order to have proper STFT and LTFT you will have to lower your idle fuel pressure down to about 25psi...but the car doesnt like having that low of a fuel pressure, so set it at 30psi at idle, then I've gone in with the SAFC into the 1000rpm band lo setting (idle) and lowered it about 30%....STFT and LTFT are very close to zero and all is well. Every car is a tad different...but that how mine runs, Ive ran this setup since June and it's perfect...for me at least. Before adding the SAFC, the car threw a CEL for being overly rich...but once I leaned it out with the SAFC is dissappeared.

I have it set for 60psi WOT Fuel pressure at 5-6psi...which is I believe a tad rich. However I don't have a walbro 255 intank...I have a GSX Intank from a Turbo first gen...not sure if it flows quite as well...but its damn near close and EGT's are beautiful....

but I do need a digital a/f...grrr

You wouldnt need a SFMU, IMO, for 30lb injectors. the cars we have done ran/drove fine with 30lb injectors, SFMU, and about 25psi of idle FP. To each their own though.

I'm another person who runs sfmu and 30ibs. fp is 25psi and daily boosting 12psi.

I run 30lb injectors and just and smfu at 7psi of boost and with the 2nd biggest calabration disk. I really need to switch to the biggest disk and run a bleed vavle though becasue I run rich at static pressure but lean out a bit at full boost.

There's really no need for an s-afc for you current set up.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll just save up for the SFMU, it's pretty expensive though at $260 - but then I'll sell my FMU.

Yea my car hesitates to idle at that low of a fuel pressure setting...and even takes a few extra 'clicks' of the starter for the engine to start up....not of my liking.

I just got my new sfmu in and have an old sfmu that is sitting in my car collecting dust. The blue rubber diaphram is tore b/c of some oevrtightening so i bought a new one. I have all the disks and rings and sfmu if someone may need a disk or ring or silver spring, etc. I may be able to give them up. But it will be a few days b/c i am installing my new one now and new super 16g and alain manifold. All i ask if someone needs something, pay a few bucks for shipping, thats it which is probably real cheap.

I currently run DSM 450CC injectors... they're around 44lb I believe.
I have the idle fuel pressure set to about 20psi... car starts and idles perfectly.

SAFC is taking out 12% at idle... Fuel pressure is controlled by the cartech...

Running 19psi daily... But this weekend the Megasquirt goes on.... then everything changes... heh
