Im begining to gather parts to build up another block. Of course, when it's finished, I'm going to want to test the thing. My question is; is it a good idea to build the block with stock compression and boost it or would it be better to just drop in some lower compression pistions. I dont want to be driving aound with lower compression so when the block is complete it's just going to be sitting in my garage, shed, living room... whatever; until i have my turbo system ready to go. More insentive to boost sooner I guess. The big problem will be, I wont know if it will work until I install it, and im sure as hell not going to slam it in, start it, and swap it back out. I would also like to be done with the break-in time before I boost so i dont get excited and ruin it. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.
Also, how much would it suck crusing around for a while with lower compression? Can it be compared to anything ie. stock, no CAI, whatever? Thanks again.

4% total loss of power by going down 1 point of compression. Not that big of a deal. It would be like driving a stock NT (if you have intake, exhaust, udp)

I don't think they make stock compression pistons in forged form. Just go lower.

just need custom pistons extra 100$ takes je 10working days to build customs usually

others could take upto 6weeks to build customs.


stock compression wouldn't be a bad decision just cant run as much boost on pump gas youd be limited somewhere between 13-18psi depending on your tuning abilities.

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.
If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.
