#64644, "Help me decide what to do"

I have done allot of searching on here and still cant find my answers. My built block is being built right now with je 8:8 pistons and eagle rods.Im only going to have enough money to get a stage 1 turbo kit and Ill end up buying a fmic off ebay and having custom piping made.So what stage 1 kit do you guys think I should get?The star stage 1 doesnt come with a bov so how hard would it be to weld on a flange?

manifold/turbo/downpipe combo from HRC
all oil/fuel lines and whatnot from somewhere local
4g63 manifold studs
walbro intank highflow 255
chill factory sfmu
missing link/FCD
hrc front/sidemount or something similar
custom piping is a good idea and yes, making a flange for a BOV isnt that hard

dont buy a kit, you'll regret it when you can get better parts for cheaper.

^^ imo

well it kinda depends on what you really want to do to your car. If you are looking for a bigger turbo the t3/4 is bigger and will out flow the 16 and 20g. If you think that you are going to get alot more upgrades go with hahn because they have alot more options. plus i don't know how much it would be but you could get a s20g instead of the s16g that comes with the kit since you have a built bottom end and it will give you more hp in the end. i don't think that i would run much boost with the s20g with no intercooler but check it out to see how much a 20g is if you want to be faster. anyway by the end you would have a stage 3 instead of stage 1 because you would have a built bottom end and a bigger turbo which is not necessary with the stage 3 but would make more hp.
i don't know if that makes sense but in my opinion go with hahn i just ordered mine a week ago and can't wait until its on.

you dont understand, the kits are just begging you to blow your motor up. they suck. you want to spend 2K+ on a "kit" as opposed to about 1200 for a BETTER setup using the same exact meat and potatoes of a hahn kit (turbo/dp/manifold) the fact is, you DONT get what you pay for. peice it together with the basic parts of the kit but all the important stuff (oil, fuel, etc, is WAY CHEAPER if you get it separate) trust me bro...i've been there, done that. you dont want a kit unless you want to have a big headache replacing the injectors, fuel reg, etc later on down the road because they crapped out on you.

p.s- HRC manifold bolts, nuff said. they'll royally fuck you over and a huge PITA, can i get an amen?

either way its up to you. id sure as hell NEVER reccommend buying a "kit" to anyone ever again. thats all i have to say.

Shawn call me this weekend, we can discuss your turbo options and figure out when you want to bring your car over.

What are all the parts you think I should get beside the hahn manifold and turbo that would cost around 1200.
