Ok, I picked up an accel DFI gen 7. I am looking to use it instead of my 8 injector setup. However, I have heard you can use it with the 8 injector setup. Which do you think would be the best way to go about this? I was thinking get some bigger injectors and nix the 8 injector setup. If I did do this what size injectors could I run. I would probably wan tto go pretty big being the car will eventually be a track car. I am currently running 17psi daily. Also any advise on how to hook it up and tune would be apprecieated.

best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph

Id use the DFI as the controller for the 8 injector setup, its supposedly got some awesome features/great controll over extra injectors, something about ramping up the injectors /better duty cycles,etc..

No point in using the Gen 7 to control an extra 4 injectors.. that's like buying a half million dollar CNC mill to build billet horse shoes. A complete waste of potential.

Buy some 625cc/min peak&hold injectors from a 1g guy, and a trigger wheel for the Gen 7. Then you'll just have a standalone, and you can ditch all this piggyback crap.

Or sell me the Gen 7 for real cheap.

I agree with Dino.. use a single set of suitable injectors..my game plan is to run a trigger wheel and an old school distributor set-up with the Gen 7 in my basement.

Actually 625's are good past 400hp and thats what you will need after you ditch the s16g. Good luck.

How much wiring is involved? Is it complicated because there is no harness or is it pretty straight forward? I am looking at doing the gen 7 as well after I learn more about it. I am sick of the sfmu and safc piggyback. The gen 7 is also capable of pulling timming correct? Off topic but does anyone know when hahn is comming out with their 7 and software?

Install time is about 5-6 hours--that's with the HRC 420A wire harnesses, installing the Crane ignition, and swapping in the 625 injectors. This was with two guys working on the install. If you know your way around the engine and ecu wiring, the install time will be shorter. The connections itself isn't hard, it just takes time to route the harnesses through the firewall, placement for the DFI unit, and locating the right wires.
