hey guys, got my car dyno/tuned with a motec with a AFR 11.0-11.3 with 1.3 BAR and egt at 820*C this is with a auto tranny. Max Power 257.1 and Max Torque 249.2 Question... I just notice my EGR vacuum line near the Valve Cover at the front of the engine blew off. I assume this would cause a vacuum leak?? with this EGR vacuum line off would this have limited my power/torque, throw off my AFR, etc? thanks Michael 99gs HRC Stage 2000 8-Injector Setup Max Power 257.1 and Max Torque 249.2 2004 Honda Accord V6

820*C is a little over 1500 F... im going to read up on the egr block off, but i dont think ill do that since i live in ca plus i dont want 'another' cel code. im just wondering since the whole 'circle EGR" thingy pop out which i think caused a vacuum leak at that point? what do you guys use to hold that circle egr thing on? i used one small hose clamp and it still pop??

well at 1.3Bar on the last run i hooked up the logger to see my advance and its starts at 13 then mostly stays at 16.5 advance at wot. I notice my total advance drop down to 10-11 for a split second as of right now im assuming it pulled timing from knock/ping etc. Michael 99gs HRC Stage 2000 8-Injector Setup Max Power 257.1 and Max Torque 249.2 2004 Honda Accord V6

It could have just been phantom knock(what the knock sensor thought was actual knock/predetonation).
If it had stayed there during the whole pull, then you could have had some knock. Since it jumped back to 16.5 and all was good it should be fine.
You didn't happen to notice if you ran lean for a split second on the wideband. Did you get a print out of your AFR that graphed with your rpm? If you dipped slightly in fuel, your graph should show it and then you would note a choppy graph(HP/torque) where this happened. This would most likely where it pulled the timing. Power would taper off slightly and then increase again once your timing was back to normal(16.5).
Glad it worked out for ya.

850C is 1562F. That's about where you want to be. If you have the wideband chart that would help. 1.3 Bar = 18.8 psi so with an auto tranny that sounds about right. Super 16g I assume?

Just a reminder mine was at 820*C i was thinking of going up to 840-850*C but i got my AFR at 11.0-11.3. Yes, its a Super16g. I dont got a graph of the AFR since he just hooked the unit up. I guess i could call him and ask if its on his computer but i did not see a AFR section. When we did the tuning of my car i told him i wanted it to be safe all around (AFR, timing, no ping/knock etc). I was not to concered with getting all the 'extra' power, but i might go back and dump 100 octane straight along with a nice 2.5"cat (which consist of a staight pipe) hehe.. any input on the EGR vacuum circle thingy coming out? would it have mess up my AFR,tuning, boost, or power? ***note** i was about to put my EGR vacuum part back on, but the transducer is cracked... You might be a little lean during partial boost runs. If it's consistent in its timing, you may try and richen up your ratio up to 1.3 bar. I'd definitely play with it before giving up and merely associating the pulled timing as something else not related to your tuning. In my mind, I'm always a bit concerned about partial boost because our stock ecu's don't kicj our fuel control to open loop even at atmospheric conditions. It makes that determination solely based on throttle position which sort of sucks.
Great job so far Michael. I wouldn't stress about the EGR line. Just disconnect it and go without!

About the EGR solenoid thing- YES it will cause a boost leak/vacuum leak. Mine would pop off every time I went over 15psi, it was this thing (Mopar logo sticker, "638") right? :
I had to bend the engine-side a tiny bit and score it with a hacksaw, then clamped the shit out of it with a real clamp. Once it came off and the electrical harness going to it fell down and melted to the EGR hardpipe and blew my engine fuse.
Also, the little teflon vacuum line going to it on the front side had melted, and was impossible to see even on close inspection that the vacuum line was not only melted closed but leaking thru a tiny hole. If you're going to keep it, replace that vacuum line with a good silicone vacuum line.

AFR in the low 11's is pretty rich. Most tuners (including myself) that I know of usually shoot for low to mid 12's. The choppiness is probably from timing, but could also be from alot of excess fuel.
