#63499, "Greddy E-Manage"

Ive been contemplating getting this unit for my car. is it basically just a fancy version of a SAFC II? if it wont allow for running over 440cc injectors, i dont see the advantage of it over the SAFC, other than it can control boost and has a pretty screen for 500 more bucks. if anyone has the E-manage setup, please explain how hard the wire up was and if u r happy with the unit or not. thanks guys.

You can do quite a bit with the e-manage. You can control injectors over 440cc. You can even get their optional map sensor and program injector flow off rpm band and boost. You can also control timing, though it has not been accomplished on a 2gnt as im aware yet. Contact Jamesman, he is running the setup. There are TONS of features.

Edit: I believe that you can control injectors up to 150% larger then what the stock ecu can handle. which is 310cc. Do the math emoji

The E-manage is a very nice unit. With capabilities beyond an AFC in my opinion. Now the e-manage alone doesn't come with any fancy screens, ect. The stand alone unit is pretty basic and rather a novice tool. It has 5 RPM points you can adjust the map. Rather crappy. Now if you buy the support tool or the Greddy E-01 this all changes. Both tools can interface with the hidden advanced settings of the e-manage. This is where it becomes much better than the AFC. First you get a 16x16 map to adjust your air meter (MAP in our case). As far as I know it's a TPS X RPM map but I believe you can hack it so that it works as MAP X RPM (same as the Corbin fool your AFC trick). Also, there are settings with in the e-manage were you can adjust the size injector you are using. Say you use 440s, input that into your e-manage along with your stock injector size and your base 16x16 map though it will show all 0 it will still have all the corrections made to run 440s underneath it. Now the more add-ons that you get for the e-manage the more you can do. If you get the injector harness you can add additional injector pulse width to the existing pulse width sent from the ECU. The best part is that this 16x16 map can be based off a pressure sensor so that you can get pulse width added proportional to boost pressure. There is an ingnition harness too which would allow you to retard timing proportional to boost pressure (though no one has gotten it to work properly yet). Also, you can monitor all these parameters as well. There is also additional injectors that can be controlled (also proportional to boost) if you wanted too. There are more features but not too many people have the e-manage on their 2gNT that have it used to it's full capabilities. If you want more info you should look at http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/index.html and also the e-mange yahoo group. Lots of good information there. Hope this helps.

WERD to that!
yes the emanage is in my opinion also a much better unit than the AFC. the AFC has limited settings for the main map correction. eg. it only has hi and lo TP settings where the e-manage has 16 points of TP. The afc I think only has like 8 or 12 rpm points giving you a map with only 16 or 24 correction points. the emanage has a 16x16 map for standard map adjustment, additional injector pulswidth addition, extra injectors and igniton timing retard(this does not work yet but I have a fix in mind). so each of these parameters have 256 points of adjustment. The injector scaler function where you put in your original injectors then put in the new size and the unit autocorrects in my opinion is pretty cool, but when used with different from stock fuel pressures it may not be as accurate. also it has a map voltage clamp so NO more missing link is necessary. if used with the profec e-01 boost contoller it can do alot more. I currently have the emanage and e-01 setup with the extra boost sensor. this allows me to control the addition of fuel based on boost pressure. I have all the harnesses hooked up except for the extra injectors, and the ignition harness which i am currently trying to get to work correctly. I did notice that the car ran way way smoother just by installing the e-manage and taking out the afc. lets just state it like this. the AFC is the honda civic of piggy backs, the afc2 is the 350Z of piggybacks and the e-manage is the R34 skyline of piggybacks.

Yeah, I have an emanage coming with my greddy turbo kit for the 350z. I'm excited to get it working. Do you guys have the software for the emanage? Isn't it like $300? ack.

As far as the emanage on a 2gnt, I have never heard of it being done. Actually I was at the only local greddy dealer in MI last night and they had a turbo 2gnt in there. It was running a start kit, I guess the kid messed it all up. This thing was ALL tricked out, funny shit. Anyways, they want to use the emanage on it because they just love greddy stuff there. But they said they don't think it will work becuase the emanage is built for jap cars. I assume this means that our 2gnt has different sensors than jap cars. Call this guy, he knows his stuff and is an authorised dealer. He will tell you everything you want to know, and he can get you a good price on the emanage.

Sometimes it's easier to reach him via email- ej20@twmi.rr.com

edit:

I just realised I can use the PC I built into my Z to control the emanage with the support software. Oh man, I'm so stoked to get this stuff! woo hoo!

Oh the e-manage works on a 2gnt and works DAMN well. Better than anyother piggy back on the market hands down. Jamesman probably knows the most about it, and Kiku is using his emanage to run his 8 injector setup (no EIC just e-manage)! So this thing works and works wonders on 2gnts. I'm still building my knowledge base on it but my e-manage is ready to go on ... once I'm in the same country as my car.

yes, emanage does work on our cars. no software does not cost 300. even if you do get the software you can't use it becasue the connection cable is a serial to usb and it has a special chip inside the serial side that only lets you communicate with the emanage. a regular usb serial wire will not work. anyways i think the support tool is like 119 on mohd's site. The people I know of using the emanage here are vinnie(KIKU888), Chris(murix), and I. There may be more, but those are the only ones I know of. honestly though if you are not going to go standalone, and you want to have the most control over your fuel delivery. the emanage is the way to go. all other piggybacks must bow down to the e-manage.

I've got two questions,
one: In therory with the emanage I could run boosted with larger injectors without a fmu or a missing link, correct?
two: I was at a dyno shop the other day and ask him about the emanage he said he had only done two honda with it so he didn't know that much about it, he did say that it only work in the run position, so if you have big injectors you would flood your car. any thoughts? I figured he just wired it wrong.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the E-Manage when for less money you could have a Megasquirt setup...

But... no one has had a Megasquirt running on a 2gnt AFAIK... so I guess I'll be the first one... And I predict once everyone sees how sweet it is... then it will be Megasquirt time for quite a few people!!!

The emanage will scale the signal from your stock computer down a given amount. If you put in 440's you just tell the emanage unit the size of the stock injectors and the size of the new injectors and it does the math. Then you get the map sensor for it and the injector harness and you can supply fuel under boosted operation and control your timing advance.
