Are spearco intercoolers any good? I see a bunch of them on ebay for sale but wondering if they are good or not. which type of IC is better also? the spearco kind or the bar & plate kind?

get the hrc one. its 600 bucks for the ic itsself, and you just weld up your own piping. sweet.

my brother used a spearco ic from ebay the welds were awesome i believe bar and plate is the most efficeint(sp) way to go. the upside with the hahn is that its fit for our cars already where as ur goin to have to get the mounts weld on if you choose to go with the spearco but imo its a very nice ic.

im planning to do my own piping anyway. the one from hahn is my other thought though. Just the spearco ones are longer and maybe an inch taller but they are also only 3" thick instead of 3.5" thick would may help with fitting inside bumper, even though the bumper will need to be cut anyway

spearco is one of top intercoolers out their for the price especially on ebay they are a great deal.


welds i cannot speak for due to most on ebay are custom welded.

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.

I bought a spearco off ebay last summer. It arrived in excellent shape and the welds were down right beautiful.

All I did was order some mandrel bends from JCwhiteny and fabbed up the piping myself.

Excellent FMIC for the money IMO..

I believe the seller on ebay was "boostcoolers" or something. REALLY good to deal with.

Hey definitely buy from boostcoolers... I just recently bought mine and its very nice. When I ordered mine they made an honest mistake and sent me the wrong model. I emailed them that night and when I called the NEXT day, they ALREADY were working on my IC (they custom make them themselves!!!).

Real good guys... i say go for it.

The spearco bar& Plate are better than the hrc and the greddy. Plus they are cheaper. You cant lose. I am about to sell my greddy 24r for a spearco.

The only thing about Spearco intercoolers are that they have thing runners and can get punctured easy, it happened to my griffen.
