Man the heat is doing numbers on the lines to the manual boost controller/wastegate signal. I mean the line was rock hard solid with no flexability and crumbled when I took it off. Went to put on the original wastegate line and that was cracked to all hell too. I dont think neither one was silicon. Will pure silicon lines stand up to the heat or should I get used to changing these regularly? The lines are at least a good 3-4" away from the turbine and directed as far from the heat as possible (not really all that possible with the wastegate so close to the turbine and hot itself). What to do what to do?

I had the same problem the other day when i went to take it off. The damn thing just broke up in lil pieces. Now I have a thicker tube i'm using that was supplied with the Blitz SSBC controller. I will check it later to see if it is still holding up.

MY FFWD MBC hasn't had a bit of indication of elevated heat.
This isn't meant to mean depracate your own system, but to hopefully help. I just hope your system isn't running too hot?
I think if anything's melting in your engine compartment, things have to be too hot, or the Garrett turbo just "naturally" emits more heat. I know a dude here in town in a GS-X without upgrading the injectors or fuel pump, had his engone blow though with a S-16g. Before that happened though, his fan was melting amongst other things.
You're probably okay, but it's always good to be wary.

Silicone is good. I got a little silicone hose for my breather when i bought my cold air intake. I just took it off today wehn I installed my catch can and it was still in good condition but it had frozen in one position but it was still flxible. Pretty cool huh! You can try wrapping it with thermal tape also. Silicon looks better though. Does it matter how hot that vacuum hose gets? Mine i"m sure gets really hot.

They aren't melting. The plastic tie wrap hadn't even melted but the hose still dried out and loss all flexability. I dont think my turbine is getting hotter than normal (especially if some turbo cars turbine glow red hot after hard driving. It cant be getting nearly that hot). I think its just cheap hose or the wrong kind to use.

Mine does that was well. I just leave the lines alone, they don't seem to crack or tear unless i force them to flex. I always keep a length ov vacuum line in my truck, however, just in case.
