Ok here is the deal. Car is a '95 GS. Fuel system = walbro 255, stock injectors, stock fuel rail, Vortech SFMU, and stock regulator has been disabled and the vacuum line to it is plugged. SFMU is using the largest disc and the smaller(darker) spring.
return line off the fuel rail -> side of SFMU -> out bottom of SFMU -> return line to tank.
the FMU has its own vacuum line comming direclty off the manifold, "restrictor" thingy is inline (not sure if theres any special way this goes).
Adjustable at idle from around 40psi to 60psi.
I was having problems with the pressure being outrageously high (90psi ALL THE TIME) and was not adjustable at all. I belive It was because I had tightened lid bolts too tight. When I losened them the pressure droped and adjustment became possible. I don't think this could have any effect on it as of now.
The diaphram when I first opened it was torn. I have a new one comming this week from vortech. I went to LOWES and got a square peice of plumbing rubber(slightly thicker than the one from vortech) and cut out an exact replica.
When the car is boosting/accelerating the FP actually drops slightly (3-5psi), which i do not understand. I have been messing with this thing for over a week now. Today was my biggest accomplishment with finding the lid bolts were too tight. What am I doing wrong? PLEASE HELP ME IM GOING CRAZY! All thoughts and facts are appreciated. Thanks!

make the idle at 47psi. make sure all the other ports are good.. (boost)(vacumm) and make sure you stuck the spring in there right. and i hope you didnt mess with the 4 bolts on the bottom of the sfmu.

I know this is an old post, but what happens if you mess with the bottom of the SFMU?

It is carefully calibrated from the factory and the second you loosen the bolts you basically screw it up beyond any repair without sending it back for calibration.
