Question. You can get a turbo kit that includes, a exhaust manifold, t3/t4 turbo, waste gate, downpipe, and a few intake pipes, for around $500. Do you do it? The catch, it is a custom job. You will have to get all custom IC pipes made and buy an IC and BOV. What will that cost? What do you think? Do you do it?

Depends on how much of it you understand and how much you are willing to take on. Do not forget the fuel system and the little stupid nuts and bolts you will need.

Hm......little stuff.....lets try-

We can start with the big stuff, then get smaller....
turbo, manifold, wastegate, custom piping, intercooler if you want more than 5psi, BOV, fuel pump (inline and intank wouldn't hurt), FPR, gauges(boost, A/F, fuel pressure at least), fuel cut defenser, fuel return line, hose for the in-line fuel pump, oil drain line, oil feed line, lots of vacuum lines, lots of small brass fittings for the oil pan and oil sending unit, hose clamps and rubber sleeves for the piping from intake to the turbo to the IC to the intake manifold and for the BOV, bolts for the exhaust manifold, bolts for the turbo, mounting bracket bolts for the inline pump and a place to mount it, all the little brass fittings for the FPR, wire for the fuel pump wire/rewire, a bunch of T and Y fittings for the vacuum lines...

I'm sure I left some stuff out... anyone want to add to the list?

Its easier to get it all at once for a bit more money I would think...thats why everyone does it that way.

You see most of us paying $2500-$3000+ for complete systems, there is a reason...namely, to put together a custom system it's going to cost close to that, and it's alot more trouble

My dad: "So that thing make your car faster by allowing exhaust gas to exit faster...?"
Me: "Um, no dad...The exhaust gas makes this little thing spin, which on the other side here compresses the intake air"
