#61903, "BOV on stock GSX?"

Would installing a BOV on a stock GSX work like any other turbo car with a BOV? What kind of BOV would you recommend for this application? I've always been a Honda guy, but my girlfriend now owns a GSX. I'm learning the ways emoji

Most BOV's work basically the same way, ie venting the pressure when the throttle plate closes. The main difference with a boosted 420a and the 4g63 is you will need to make sure you recirculate the air back into the intake. Her GSX has a MAF that meters the air.

Unless she's running higher than stock boost the stock BOV should be fine for now. Are you just getting a different BOV for that cool "whoosh" sound? emoji

If it's a 1g the stock valve is more than fine. If it's a 2g the best thing to do is to use a 1g valve with an adapter. I just don't see spending over $100 on a valve because it sounds good. If it doesn't leak and has quick response, which the 1g valve does, then it's good enough for me.

If you try to vent it to the air it will make the car die. Unlesss....you purchase something like the hks vpc or equivilent electronic device to control the a/f. I think! I have heard the vpc will do the trick. I have heard the afc gets it close, but that is the only way you will be able to vent to the air with the car running 1/2 way right. There are a couple of company's out there that have good bov's for the eclipse that will bolt right up. But as they said above the 1g is a great choice. Affordable and reliable.

$400 BOV??!! Damn, the Tial doesn't even cost that much!

My rims are 17" Konig Reigns. They are discontinued now. I picked them up for $200 with tires from a friend who was selling his car. emoji
