#61463, "WHAT DID I DO????"

i went to put my turbo kit on but realized i didnt have everything i need so i decided to hold off until i have everything and then do it all at once. so i took the exhaust manifold off and the downpipe, and then thats when i turned around. i put that stuff back on and now my car sounds like one of those old cadilacs with a hole in the muffler. i have a 3 inch cat back so its hard to hear inside the car, but when i get near the hood you can definitely hear it. i was wondering if i just didnt tighten all thebolts properly or did i do something worse?? i tried tightening everything up but it still makes the noise... can anyone help me with this? i have been to scared to drive my car cuz i dont want any serious problems because i just spent half my life savings on a turbo kit.

It's just an exhaust leak. Did you re-use the old gaskets?

if i were to guess what u did i would say either u forgot to put the o2 sensor back in and ur car is running rough plus ur leaking exhaust through that hole, or u need a new exhuast mani gasket unless u forgot to put it back on alltogether, either way no big deal, most likely its something very very minor,

Yeah I bought a slew of new gaskets when I did my turbo install. Upper intake manifold, oil pan, and exhaust manifold. No reason not to change gaskets if you have the part off. That would just be lazy.

SO for a turbo charged NT eclipse.
I can still use the stock exhaust manifold gasket right?

Coz I was thinking maybe I need to get something different coz it's turbo now.

The dealer sells two types of exhaust manifold gaskets. They sell the composite one and a multi-layer steel one. Obviously make sure that you get the steel one and you should be fine turboed or non-turbo.

^^ beat me too it

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.
