#6126, "How much and how long does it take to install your turbo kit?"

HI,
My 97 Rs has been installing the HRC stage 2 turbo kit with FMIC for 10 days since 6/1. They said there are lots of works had to do, and it should be done on Tuesday, but according to Hahn's instruction of installation, it said just need 10-15 hours to install. BTW,I also asked them to install S-AFC,HKS BOV,turbo timer and EGT...so they'll totally charge me $1200 for the labor fee.......Geez..that's over my budget..so,I want to know how much did you guys paid and how long did it take. Is my price reasonable? Thanks !

Kuan

BTW,I also asked them
>to install S-AFC,HKS BOV,turbo timer
>and EGT...so they'll totally charge
>me $1200 for the labor
>fee

I cant see how it should take that long, its a shop after all. Two or three days should be enough but I'm sure they're doing more than just working on your car (they have to be to take that long). BOV should cost nothing aditional to install. Unless they are doing custom intercooler piping I wouldn't pay that much. $500 for the turbo kit and maybe $200 for the AFC,TT and EGT sounds reasonable (well at least expected). The ONLY reason I did it myself was due to cost of labor (I have no business toying around the engine but I'm a better man for it). $1200 they should throw in a free 25" color tv.

I was trying to do the install on my Star Stage 1 but ran into a problem. The flange and bolts that connects the cat and the downpipe are rusted together. I have to have it cut and weld a new flange to it. I would have had a muffler shop do it but I wont have time to do the install. So now I have a shop doing the install and everything for me. It will be about 420 bucks for the install. Thats for 8 hours labor at 60 bucks an hour. They are definately charging you too much.

Im finally boostin'!!!

I am having MWC help me and I am paying nothing for it. I bought the kit off him though and that had installation "help" included in the price. Should only take a day to do a stage one. Maybe two for the stage two.

Store brand sodas on the house (thanks dad). Additional labor free (thanks dad again and mom for pushing on the bumper forward while telling me how stupid this is as I tried to put the front end on after the intercooler).

Geeeeeeeeeeeez..........
they just gave me a call ..and ask me if I want to keep the cruise control, if I want , it gonna take couple hours to do it..why???..shit..and they rose the labor fee to $1415 ...geez..
How can they do that to me???????????????? what can I do now?

First,They said the basic price for installing a turbo kit is $700 when I called them first time. Then, after I brough my kit to their shop, then they said the price should be around $900-1200 but they'd keep the price under $1000.....but that's a lie!!

They always said they never do the works before, so there are so many works they didn't know how long would it take.....only for the intercooler they took 6 hours to mount it!!!

Should I need any extra parts to install HRC turbo kit? coz they have ordered couple parts for me, and said they need those parts to do the job...Is that true? Does anybody can give me suggestion what can I do now???? Thanks

The shop's name is Titanmotorsports (www.titanmotorsports.com)
located in Orlando!!!! Don't go there.....................

go tow your shit out of there and tell them dont do another thing. Whats with all this extra stuff and cruise control issues? Let Dave_FL installer do it. I'm sure he'd do it for a reasonable fee.

I think a few of us need to make some phone calls and ask what the hell they are trying to pull!!!
