Last night we had a small gathering here in Chicago, and I got to meet Len Ayala. As some of you may or may not know, he has started up his own sort of Fabrication shop, and they are definately catering to the 420A crowd. He also brought along his newly designed fuel pressure regulator!!!


As I understand it, this unit is relatively similar to the Vortech SFMU, but without the HUGE size, and at a better price. For more info on it, Chill Factory has their own website (see: www.chillfactory.us)

With the problems that I've been having with the SFMU, I'm definately going to give this unit a try. All I have to say is there is no doubt in my mind as to the quality and functionality of this unit, as Len himself uses it, and his Neon is no joke. Just ask for his dyno numbers

As far as i can tell? yeah. But I can't say for sure til I try it myself. But since this sucker retails for 230 dollars, you can't complain too much. The SFMU goes for like 300+ new.

wow i never really looked at a turbo'd neon engine bay before... looks even more cramped than ours. the turbo looks very inaccesable
damn does the intake piping after the turbo go like underneath everything and come back up in the front near the intake manifold?

let us know how the FPR works out!

What kinda problems are you having with the SFMU? i was real impressed with mine. pretty much plug and play. that unit looks damn nice too though. wish he had it about 4 months ago.

Told you guys to look at chillfactory for your turbo stuff. Now I have to prove to you how well it work

So will you be the 1st person trying this on a turbo 2gnt? I'm ready to buy a SFMU today, but wouldn't mind saving about 100 bucks. I know that's it's probably better then the craptech I have but has it been proven to be as stable as the SFMU. I'll probably give this one a try, anyone know if it uses the same 6an fittings as the SFMU?

I checked out their site, it looks like they use 1/8" NPT. Let us know how it goes!

You can also use the unit in series with a stock regulator. I believe that is to keep fuel pressure at a constent level under all vac. conditions. This way the ECU handles fuel for everything under 0-psi (no boost conditions) and then when boost is applied the Chill Factory FMU starts to step up pressure.

Nice, same connections as the craptech, looks like this will be the way I go. It's cheaper and I don't need order the AN fittings either since I have a craptech, I'll just use the same ones. Does it use the same bleed valve too? Now I just have to figure out if I want to use the craptech as a door stop or paper weight.

i have the regular fmu, think i could replace the fmu with this and have enough tuning adjustment, instead of reworking the entire fuel system like you have to do with installing the sfmu
