I have a star stage 2 and I run the 8inj setup so fuel supply is not a problem. I currently have the standard T3/T04E-trim that comes with the star kit, but I need to have it rebuilt so I think that I would just like to upgrade and then sell my turbo to someone that wants to rebuild it(bearings have some play). I have been looking on e-bay and this one looks good http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2443865420 not sure how high the price is going to go though. My head has been rebuilt with 1mm SS oversized valves and I am upgrading to the Crane 0014 turbogrind, from my stockers, hopefully this will help the turbo spool a little quicker. Of course, I have a built block JE and Eagle. BTW, I do drag race at the local track, but I am willing to sacrifice an earlier spoolup for brute top end power. I know this isn't good for the 1320 but I really don't care. If you know of any good(read cheap) places to order a turbo I'd appreciate that info as well. Thanks, Neil p.s. Include trims and AR's that you would reccommend as well, as I am no turbo expert

it would probably be cheaper to get the one you have rebuilt. plus the one on ebay looks kinda stupid do what you wanna do man. no one can help you on this one. if you wanna blow $800 on almost the same exact thing then go for it no one is stopping you.

thats a turbonetics t3/t4e 50trim BB...if you already have the etrim star kit, chances are you have the 50 trim turbo..the only difference is ball bearing which really helps out on spool time...it will be a great turbo for the track and make tons of top end...
Here are two of my favorite choices. SC-50(400whp) with .63 AR/76 trim exhaust wheel and the SC-60(520whp) with .63AR/76 trim exhaust wheel. Their specs show more power, but this is on the edge of their efficiency and not very realistic normally. If quick spool is extremely important, then get a .48 AR/69 trim wheel on a SC-50. That should give you 25 psi before 4K rpm and since the 50 trim map shows that it is designed to spin above 120K rpm, it won't run out of air in the upper rpm range(6-7K). We have been researching many of the new GT technology turbos lately.
If you are truely serious about buying a new turbo, ask for Don Polk. The number is on the website listed in the second paragraph. Please do not call just to ask a bunch of questions and are not seriously interested in buying a new snail. He doesn't usually take many calls from people that he doesn't know(way too busy building on projects).
He is also the Electromotive dealer that I am ordering my Tec 3 from.
I seriously doubt that we have 50 trim compressor wheels on our Star kits. 40 trim is the most logical choice. Someone did post a while back that their turbo was defective and turbonetics did send them a 50 trim. Unless you are boosting over 15 psi, the 40 trim is just fine and flows nearly the same amount of air at a given pressure. It is just the 50 trim can boost 10-25psi efficiently and spin at 125K rpm and still flow. The map is extremely broad with a smaller inducer (54 trim) and larger exducer (57 trim). This is why the map is so broad and efficient.
