its cold here now, and every since, if i boost hard before 5 mins from a cold start, i get fuel cut. anyone else have this? the fuel cut doesn't happen if i press the throttle at wot, but sometimes when i go partial, there's a stutter.
thought i have the missing link, do we have other options to dealing with preventing fuel cut besides the fcd hrc, and ml?

just a small shudder? i always thought that fuel cut was a more violent experience. maybe i'm wrong, i dunno, i'm not turbo yet, but i always thought that if you hit fuel cut that you would definately know it.

ya, fuel cut from a missing link isnt that uncommon. with our egr system, it will get clogged with all that exhaust shit. just do the egr blockoff mod thingy. i cleaned the intake mani, and blocked off the egr, and cleaned the missing link, and i have yet to get another problem with it. just take off the upper intake mani and clean it out. all good.

heh, fuel cut feels like your engine fuckin blew up or something and your car just wants to stop so it can die peacefully. this was in a friend's car, but my closest experience has been hitting the rev limiter which is fuckin hardcore too (i'm under the impression thats ignition cut, but it might be fuel cut).

it's definitely not the end all be all of fcds.. i've never had the ml keep from fuel cut at part throttle. apparantly it just lets too much boost through in trasition for some "sensitive" ecu's. i'm not only one like this. but yeah try cleaning it.. may help

Talk to ner947 about this. He was working on a circuitry system which would take care of the partial throttle fuel cut experienced by some ML users. I'm not sure if he got it fixed or not, but give him a shout. (he's an electrical engineer so he knows his shit)

Are you sure it is fuel cut? it could be that your fuel rise rate is too steep and if you get into boost it choaks. It could also be the other way around.. maybe your FMU is not getting a strong enough "boost signal" when you get into it slowly so it lags a bit in supplying you with fuel. Is your vacuum line going directly from the FMU to the intake manifold? Look at those, the problem could be simpler than you think.

yeah.. nate's one of the others w/ the same issue. seems to also depend on what altitude you're at. btw what year are u? so far all of the people w/ this sensitive ecu thing have been 97's(that i know of)

Also, if you're boosting before the engine warms up fully, it's not using the learned fuel maps yet, it's in warm-up mode which deliberately runs rich.
After you clean your ML, make sure you lubricate it with a really lightweight oil. WD40 is not oil. I use Marvel or 3-in-1.
At part throttle, the ML does stick a tiny bit. This feels like a little blip in the throttle, like you let the clutch out too quick or something.
Fuel cut feels like the engine just decided to do a faceplant, and you wonder if the airbags are going to go off, just as your nose gets about 3" from the steering wheel

i wouldnt boost at all when the engine is cold period. when you are warming up, its gonna run rich. id say thats all your problem is. do you have bigger injectors? 1999 Black C5 1997 Silver RS Wiseco 8.8:1 Pistons(back to low compression!)
