I am curious to know how succesful we are in adding turbos to our cars with all stock internals and say a Stage 1 or Stage 2 kit. How do we hold up? Anyone have a ratio of the success to unsucess rate of turboin our cars?

Thanks In Advance

no one is going to be able to say exactly how your experiance will be. you might be like me, bolt on the turbo shit, and run perfect and boost all the time (safe 7-8psi) or be like other people where the drive down the road and blow thier engines. run a compression test on ya engine, and see where you stand. and read this forum like theres no tommorrow.

I purchased my car with a HRC stage II kit already installed. I've driven close to 12,000 miles myself, who knows how many miles were on the kit before I got the car (39,000 on the ODO currently). I haven't had 1 problem, well I guess the only one I had was my MAP sensor voltage but that was quickly fixed with a Missing link. As long as you watch your Fuel pressures, egt's, don't drive like a maniac 24/7 and are lucky, you shouldn't have any problems.

Don't kid yourself for too long. The correct question here is not 'will it blow', but 'when will it will blow'.

Kinda agree with ^^^^. Take care of your car and it will take care of you. Shit doesn't blow up for no reason. Do a leakdown test and REALLY know the condition of your motor. Don't drive the piss out of it and keep it tuned up and regular fluid changes. I've had a Wyatt Star Stage I kit since the first batch. I have well over 30K on it and (knock on wood) no real problems. Just little things here and there that were probably broke prematurely due to the turbo, but not directly because of it.

Shit is all apart. Typical...
