#60130, "SAFC install now CEL 14"

I finnished my safc install a few minutes ago and when I started the car I got a cel 14 MAP sensor voltage. Is there a setting on the safc that I have to plug in to get rid of this, or did I mess something up. Please get back to me ASAP because it is getting dark and I do not want to be out there with a flashlight again tonight.

Ok I think this means I am supposed to play with the pressure settings. Well I was on 5in 5out and looked up how to do the math betweem my boost guage and safc pressures, here is what I got. At 7in 7out I have about 16.5hg x the 25.4 = 419. The afc actual says I have 420 to max spike of 430. So I should be good right? But it sounds a little rough at idle now . I am resetting the ECU as I write this to see if I will retain the cel 14. Let me know if I have this straight.

Mine's at 6in 6out. I think it has to be either my way or 7in 7out... just have to play with it and see which one your car likes better.

Thanks man tryin to figgure it now. Also I now I can prob look it up but does anyone have some or a link for safc hi/lo fuel % for 310ccs. It will give me somewhere to start. Like sfmu fuel pressure at idle and how much to lean it out with safc at iddle. Thanks

I don't think it's a bitch to play with, but you really need to tune it on the dyno. Or with a digital a/f on the freeway with someone helping you, will get you semi-close

I think its about the easiest tuning tool out there, You just really need a dyno and a wide band to tune it.

What kind of numbers are good or safe to get on a wide band dyno? I went to one the other day and my friends mustang was getting about 13 and the guy said about 13.5 is the max he should go. Anything over that and he would be to lean. What kind of # are you guys getting? Also this morning my car took forever to start I realy had to fight with the throttle to keep it running and oh yeah the cel 14 came back 2 times. I must be missing something, anyone! Thanks

Not sure about your problems with the SAFC, but I do know that 12.5:1 is the optimum air/fuel ratio. That doesn't neccesarily mean thats what you should aim for, because we may not be able to run such effiecient ratios and keep temperatures and detonation in check.

No one has any clue as to why the safc keeps making the ecu through a cel 14?
