I spent all night reading old posts and I am a little confused. I have read in many posts that you cant run 42s w/o a safc. Then I also have read unless I am mistaken that you can and you should set iddle to about 10psi and the idle will be a little rough but it will idle. I plan on running 13psi boost untill I get my dis2 and safc, then I will boost higher and have it tuned with safc and ignition retard. Now can I run 13psi on 42s with the 2.72 disk and 10psi fuel at idle? If so does anyone know what I should see at static and full boost press.? Also is the MSD DIS-2 6211 the correct one for our car? Just want to make sure before I buy. i do it all the time. i have similar (415 cc/min) injectors and run about 12 psi of fuel at idle. i've never had any problems. before it got stolen, i ran 0 correction with my AFC and used it just for it's "sensor check" function.

siueclipse what are your egt's at 19psi? What do you use to retard your timming and about how may deg. are you retarded? Finally what turbo do you have, because I have a s20g and that seems to make a diff in how much boost I can run. I always seem to have to run less boost with the saame injectors than the s16g guys. I just want to get som close figgures to work with before I start tunning. I ran the 440's with an idle fp of about 12psi with the smallest disk in the sfmu set, and was boosting about 12psi this set up had me a little rich at about 4k but very nice the rest of the way. i only use the safc to lean her out at idle and smooth out the fuel curve, nothing mayor though. after cranking her up to 14psi I started to run lean so upgraded the disk to the second to largest one as suggested by siueclipse she runs nice now . She will now run 15psi daily.
no need for timing retard or anything like that.

Egt at redline were 1525 degrees in 3rd gear. i am not retarded and im not using any ignition on the car yet. im sure 19lbs of boost is a little beyond the barrier for my setup though.
i have the s20g and no you dont need to run as much boost as the 16g to make the same amount of power.

Thanks man sounds good. Now all I have to do is fight with the intake to get the injectors in Patrick 96 GS 14.14 @ 96.5 mph on 8psi 8 Nov.02 HRC kit, S20G, FMIC, Howell bottom end 8.6 pistons, S-FMU, Blitz BOV, P&P head, SS valves, lots more little goodies

I'll put in 2 more votes for 42#'s at 10-15psi idle. My ford 42#'ers stop squirting correctly at about 15psi so my idle sucks without SAFC, but Jamesman runs RC? 440's and they idle perfectly at 9-10psi. You shouldn't need an safc if your injectors can handle Fuel Pressures that low.
If you happen to have an safc, then raise your idle FP to about 15-18psi and lean out the lowest RPM range about 10-15%. Perfect idle.
