i went to ace hardware and they had these torches from benzine types to propane. there about 30-40 dollars.

is it possible to use these types of gas torches to attach metal brackets to the fmic and to the frame of my car?

You could try, but I dont think those will get hot enough to weld aluminum. Thin aluminum like on an IC, needs a good TIG welder. Fab up your brackets and mark where they need to go. Then take the IC to a welding shop and have them do it for you. Shouldnt be more than 20-30 bucks to do it right.

No it wont work!!! just take it to a welding shop and have it done. It wont be very much at all just for brackets.

dont take it to a muffler shop, take it to a good specialized welding shop that can weld aluminum..

radiator shops are more accustomed to dealing with aluminum. most muffler shops that I know of can't do aluminum.
