#59847, "oil from bov"

I need some help. I have oil coming out of my bov under boost. My question is can positive crank case pressure, which I know I have, cause the drain tube for the turbo to not drain during boost and make oil come out of the seal into the charge pipes? My breather tube from my valve cover goes to a catch can so I know it isnt coming from there. I also had the turbo rebuilt a few months ago and it has no shaft play. My car does not burn any oil except just a tiny bit when I first get on it. Thanks in advance.

it could be a few things... your turbo oil seals could have broke (hope not).
Your pcv valve could be busted and you could be seeing some positive pressure going in through your valve cover causing it to "spit" oil not only via the breather but also back through the pcv into your intake manifold. take the pcv valve out and blow through both sides, air should only be able to flow in one direction. if it flows both ways then it is busted, happened to me 3 times hehe.
Good luck.

If my oil seal was broken, would there be a lot of shaft play, or does that only have to do with the thrust bearing? I have noticed oil around the bottom of my turbo at the compressor housing/center section junction. If its my oil seal how long do I have before the turbo goes? I know its not the pcv valve because I can take it off and route that hose to the catch can also and it still does it. I am really starting to think its the oil seal. emoji

welcome to the club my friend. I have had this problem since I first installed this NEW turbo. IMO. if you didn't have this problem before you had the turbo rebuilt, then the turbo is having issues.
if this is the first that you are boosting with this system then the oil return line could be kinked or located in the wrong place on the pan (I'm sorry I am not familiar with your history).

btw. my turbo has zero play and everything looks in order, but it is pumping my intertcooler FULL of oilx(

peace
