Well.... my o2 was shot. After beating the hell out of my downpipe to get the sensor out, put a new one in. So of course my ghetto/hrc downpipe fell out. So I slammed it back in and clamped it down. But now it wont stay on. Ill drive around and it just pops off. So.... how the hell can I keep it on? Im doing the same thing as I did before and it stayed on. Put two 2 1/4" clamps on it.

Also... I put a 55mm TB on today. And my rpm's are all weird. When i rev it, it takes longer for it to go down. And when im coming to a stop my rpms will go down like normal, then go back up, then back down. WTF?

My car sucks.

who did your TB? Its almost without a doubt air leakage past/around the butterfly valve.

LOL... downpipes suck don't they? I had to use about 6" of flexible tail piping to make my downpipe clear my A/C compressor. We actually took a hacksaw and cut out the whole section of the downpipe that runs down the engine bay, and replaced it with flex pipe. It was the only way to make it work. We just used exhaust clamps to hold it on. Eventually I'm gonna have a muffler shop weld me one, using various mandral bends, but I'm too broke even for that. We also destroyed my O2 sensor trying to get it out of the downpipe. 70 bucks emoji

i had a problem witn my first howell. i had to send it back and have them cut a new buterfly valve disc because you could see light around the edges. take it off and hold it up to a light source and see if you can see light around the edges of the plate. its amazing how litle gap you acutlay need to get that whole RPM/rev thing.
idealy you dont want to see any light other than maybe just a tiny bit by where plate slides into the shaft.

Try using a 2 1/8" clamp on the downpipe. I have used them with good success with very little leaking. You may want to take them off, and try to round out the pipe ends as good as you can. It will prob be tough getting the smaller clamp on there, but it is possible, and will seal it better. Be sure to tighten the clamp nuts down real tight. The 2 1/4" clamps tend to "smush" the pipes together creating an oval shape of the pipes, and also makes them leak too much..
