#58876, "turbo setup: conclusion..ideas..goals.. question....."

First Off, I want to thank Corbin, ExtremeRS, DarkOne, yadayada.... and everyone! you guys helped me ALOT!

MY CURRENT SETUP
-FUEL SYSTEM: SFMU, Walbro 190lph fuel pump, stock injector
-TURBO SETUP: 16G turbo, Speacro FMIC, HKS SS BOV
-GAUGES: digital A/F, EGT, boost, fuel gauge

FUTURE SETUP
-Turbo Heat Insulation Sheild
-330cc fuel Injectors
-Full Complete 2.5" Exhaust System
-Bottom End Rebuilt for 420A

<coming 2-4 weeks: 5PSI max>
<coming 4-12 weeks: 8-9PSI max>
<after rebuilt: 14PSI max>

Sorry for the long post, but they are all my doubts, ideas and goal for my turbo setup!
OK, I have exactly 4 questions:
Thanks in advance!

1) what do you think the above ideas and setup:
- is walbro 190 good enough with stock injector before rebuild?
- is 330cc injectors good enough for future setup?
- is 2.5" exhaust system efficient enough?

2) For the fuel gauge, does it connect between:
"Fuel rail / SFMU" OR "SFMU / return fuel line"

3) If I just recieved my walbro 190 fuel pump on Thursday from www.extremePSI.com, you think I should return it and change it for the walbro 255? you think I can exhange it for free?

4) for my current stock injector, what disk, spring, thickness should I use for my SFMU? What is the DIFFERENCE between idle pressure, and static pressure? What the number should be when I tune my SFMU?

Thanks alot guys!

Now you do ......

1-If you can exchange your walboro pump, I would try to get my hands on the 255. Tons of people are running that successfully, I don't think I know anyone with a 190. Call the company you ordered it from. Most likely they will do it, but charge you a re-stocking fee.

2-330cc injectors should be good for 14lbs of boost after the rebuild, but you won't be run much more than 14lbs before you run into trouble. I think Xtreme RS is running 14lbs on about the same injectors and if I remember right the injectors have trouble supporting anymore boost than that. So, if after your rebuild your engine can handle more than 14lbs, I would say get bigger injectors. If 14lbs is satisfactory, stay with the 330s.

3-Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong here, but Static FP is when you just turn the key to ACC and don't start the car. You should get a FP on your FP gauge when doing this. Idle FP is when the car is actually on and idling ..... obviousl emoji

4- I would say for 50 - 100 more bucks (which ins't much when talking exhausts) I would bump up to a 3" exhaust. I have a 3" Greddy Evo on my car and my boost needle moves like a rubber band, before that exhaust I just didn't get the kind of spool up response. 2.5 is definately not "too" restrictive, but why not tap into the full potentional of your turbo as much as possible? A 16G can certianly put out a lot of power when set up right.

Hope that helps, I'll other people answer the other question emoji

The gauge will go between the rail and SFMU.

You need to consider both idle and static pressures differently. Static pressure is what you want to make sure is set properly, because idle fueling can be modified more easily and safely at idle/low throttle. When you hit boost - at that moment you're at 0psi - or your static fuel pressure. With 330s you should be around ~25psi static fuel pressure. I'm not sure about the spring colors or disk sizes with it, but whatever combo it is it should equate to around a 4:1 rising rate.

Thanks alot.
I thought my fuel gauge has to put on between the SFMU and the return line.???

About the SFMU, what should I put in? disk size? spring?

Also for now, i am running stock injectors. So how much PSI should I run at static? idle? and so on?
Thanks
