#58611, "Anyone have feedback on FTY????"

I've been considering getting a built short block and was wondering what experiences people have had with the blocks built by FTY and possibly Howell Automotive. Anyone have any other recommendations? I don't want to running more than 14-15 psi ultimately... but that is probably gonna change once I see how more boost feels. emoji}(

Thanks in advance...

I don't understand how people can say... "I don't plan to run more than xxx lbs. of boost." Yeah right, we all want 30000 psi of boost and you all know it.

Yeah but apparently they do killer work and you'd be looking at a little over $2000 for parts and labor if you had a shop do it. I'd rather pay VT to do it for me for $1650 and pay the stupid shipping and tax for a badass motor.

I'm also planning to get a block from FTY. But wtf? How much is tax and shipping in total so I know how much I am going to be spending.

haha, yea but with the cost of the block you still need head studs, a clutch...oem would DIE at 14-15 psi. 30000 psi of fuel pressure lol unless you got a nasty fuel system which is even MORE money. its not just the block you would be looking at here. oil, coolant, etc. it costs a lot to get a motor in and running clean

This motor is sick. 180 acrost comp before the motor ever started, thats perfection. I would have have paid $4000 for this thing. And now they are using CP pistons for the same price! One thing you need to think about before you have them do the work tho is how much boost you really are going to run in the end. They don't give us as much clearance in the cylenders because most 420a's are street cars. This is the best way to go, But if your ever going to run like 32psi on that block you should let them know so they can bore the cylenders with more clearance. You wouldn't want to sieze your sexy new motor!!
