#58515, "Solar is dead."

I hate to say this... but something has gone seriously wrong. I pulled the wires off the coil and disabled the spark. I hooked up my compression checker and cranked the engine over... number one doesn't read any higher than 60psi. number two came in at 120psi... i didn't check the other two because i was already pissed....

what should i do first, take the head off or drop the oil pan....
any suggestions?? I don't understand what could have caused this... I didn't take her above redline i didn't let her sit at idle at any given time.. and i didn't wrap her out and was pushing only 10psi max and rarely did i ever hit that... she did over heat twice that i can think of when we first started her up... i have a konetic head gasket in there that is supposed to be very nice..... would a spun baring cause low compression??

Might be valvetrain, might be bottom end, might be headgasket. You won't know until you pull the head off...

I'm really hoping it's nothing major... the good thing about all this is I have all the other accessories like venom intake and the downpipe is all made the intercooler the turbo all that stuff is fine... my damn engine ... god I knew i shouldn't have trusted rpmrons.com to do it.... they build big motors most the time... I even went easy on the damn thing i don't get it... something was fishy from the start when i only got 150psi when we first put the motor in...

this is just sad ..... i got this bad ass car and a dukey ass engine...

have you performed a leak-down test? also, id pull the pan first, to see if there is anything obvious like spun bearings or metal shavings. lot easier to pull the pan than the head. goodluck man.

I'm novice to the leak down... I have already started to take apart the head... at least everything connected to it... i want everything clear out of the way so that i can get it out... can i perform a leak down with the valve cover still off?

I have this same very problem with my 1G gsx! 85 compression in the 3rd cylinder, and the rest is around 135. I have a feeling its either leaky valves in the head, or it may be warped. It might also be that the rings went bad, but the block is not that old so I'll have to see
