i'm in the middle of creating a custom kit and plan only have 5psi to start. Do i absolutly need an intercooler? I will eventually get a fmic but i don't want to shell out the cash for one now.

I would. Why go through the hassle of building the pipes and then making more pipes for the intercooler? Your going to make more power on a intercooled 5 psi, that air is hot as hell after the turbo.

I think the hrc one is by far the best one for our cars. It fills the hole in the 98-99 bumper very nicely.

If you don't have the money for a FMIC right now pick up a used SMIC from a 1st gen in a junkyard or on Ebay - there's usually like 10 on there at a time - I got on for 30 bucks once. Then just have your piping custom made for it. With a setup like that you can run it until you the money for a FMIC. And, I second what ^^^^ he said, get the HRC FMIC. It installs with 4 bolts, doesn't get any easier than that .... emoji

i want one like the hrc one but i dont want to pay around $600. There's a lot of spearco ones for around $300-400. I just dont know what size would look the best. P.S. i dont have my car here to measure.
