I am at college at SIU-Edwardsville, I'm only about 10 minutes from Gateway International. I have enver ran at the track, but really want to. However...I am paranoid about snapping an axel. I have heard the track is extremely sticky compared to the street, and no matter what I will suck the first few runs I make - and I can't afford to break something on my car...should I be reluctant to run at the track? Does something break THAT often?

Also, are you in Edwardsville or Carbondale? We should meet up sometime man - I'm at Edwardsville, quite a few Eclipses...but no enthusiests...just ricers or girls rollin 14's :-D

the track is very sticky.. im being stand-off-ish about going to any track cause i keep snapping axles..

if you want to go racing up there, just bring an axle with you from napa.. they cost $160 bux.. if you break an axle you can return the broken one and get $80 back.. if you don't brake one.. you can just return the axle..

i can change an axle in 45 minutes in the parking lot. ill meet you up there some time. im in carbondale.

do you have an lsd, motor mounts, sticky tires and a ton of power? you can always launch slow off the line like i do.. i launch at about 1000 rpm and run a low 14 down the track.. 14 second quarter is slow in my opinion.. but when you can't launch and it takes 2 or 3 seconds to actually hit boost.. the time is understandable.

I can't afford that! I'm a poor college student...hmmm

Not a Ton of power....Stage2@7psi Full exhaust no cat, no LSD, stock motor mounts...

I just want to dial in a time so I know where I'm at...but I'm paranoid....

i wouldn't be too worried since you are only at about 200hp.. probably a little less than that..
