#57363, "can faulty spark plug wires cause hot conditions?"

ive been noticing my egt's getting hot for no real reason.. i have the fuel.. one of my spark plug wires keeps breaking where it hooks to the spark plug.. (the metal fitting in the boot comes off the wire when im chnging plugs or something, but doesn't just arbitrarily fall off)

im wondering that if when i fix it.. if im not getting a good connection could it cause that cylinder to run lean? i was thinking that if the gas going into that cylinder isn't igniting or isn't igniting as much as it could, then i might be getting gas wash in the cylinder cause it to run hot..

any thoughts?

thanx
James

hrm...

I think if one of your cyls are not firing the gas vapor will get pushed out into the hot manifold and ignite. Kinda like afterburn. Thats my best guess.
