okay well.. it looks like i'm gonna be getting a howell bottom end kit with the 10.5 pistons, p&p the heads, intake mani, and tb, and getting some cams (not sure which ones) upgrading my fuel system and ignition, and *drum roll* running at least a 200 shot. I'm wanting to know if anybody has ever taken this path before, and how it turned out. what kind of times were achieved? Please dont say go turbo bleh bleh bleh i'd rather be one of the very few DSM's that spray a massive shot, and wipe out just about everybody hehehe *dream mode on* if there's any info you can give me about this topic, i would GREATLY appreciate it. and no, i dont need the power all the time, i like taking it easy for the most part and getting good gas mileage. I just want the power when i hit the track emoji well hope some of yall can help me out! thanks guys

Don

sweet..... so what happened to the guy? did he blow himself up or something? lol. it sounds like he managed to get it working pretty well.. The main thing i'm worried about is managing to afford all the engine parts. I'm friends with the son of the owner of one of the Grave Digger trucks, his shop is like 20 mins from my house, he said he'd help me with all the machining and tuning work.. emoji emoji you can be sure that i'll be checking back here to see if anybody else sucessfully does it. i'm just gonna get a junk motor and completely build it from the ground up. should be interestng. emoji

been done ona couple neons with a direct port wet shot

with that big of a shot u should think about ceramic coating on the chambers and pistons

start small and work up making sure youve got it tuned right..

start witha 50 shot or so and make sure everything goes well, then step up 25 or 50 and keep going till your 200 mark or so..

as long as u watch your EGT's and fuel curves ya should be fine..

id be looking into a smt6 or megasquirt to tune this...

Bill

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.
If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.

i've never heard of the ceramic coating. sounds interesting.. i was thinking about using a dual stage set up. Just stage, take off and as soon as i get into like 2nd gear, start spraying, and then hit the next stage. *shrugs* sure hope i dont get a shitload of torque steer halfway down the track and get thrown out of the groove and into the wall.

Tribal talon I totally agree with you. I want to see how fast my N/T can get with some nitrous. Right now I have Magnaflow muffler Pacesetter headers AEM coldair intake Plugs and wires and I just installed a NX fogger kit. Right now Im only running the 35 shot jets just b/c I dont know what the clutch will take. Right now Im looking to replace the clutch and prob. the flywheel at the same time. Ive also looked at some of Gude's Head packages. All the DSM guys I hang out with are turbo so Im really just figureing stuff out on my car. So any advice you could throw my way from your project would be helpful. YellowRS if you got any advice since youve done it already I would grateful. Also I know this already been asked before but Im still gonna throw it in here... what kind of shot can the stock engine handle and what needs to be change first to fix it... hopefully TribalTalon or YellowRS can answer all this though.. thanks for the time.
Joel

well as far as the stock motor goes, it can handle about a 75 shot. that's what i'm gonna be running on this motor i currently have in the car. I am going to be building a seperate 420a outside of the car, the "race motor" so to speak. A good clutch should be able to handle a 75 shot with no problems, but a 200 shot... err. thats my next question to all of yall. What do you think i should do about this transmission? what can i do to it to build it up and make it stronger? i dont think a ACT 2600 clutch will be enough for this application because i plan on going AT LEAST a 200 shot. Also, where can i get upgraded axles that can handle the stress of that kind of hp? also, can the gears in the differential be changed out for lower gears (higher numerically) and finally is the quaife lsd the end all be all of limited slips? or are there other ones that are strong and good too? Thanks fellas emoji
