What are the real differences(performance/price wise) betweeen trims in the t3/t4..and what trims are there?...What difference would they make..which spools faster...

star uses b trim wheels and members on teh board can tell you what they spool at
e trim is probably to big for anything you'll do
star uses .63 a/r turbines and the regular kit comes with a .42 t4b compresor housing and its upgrade able to a .50 trim (correct me if im wrong..)

your correct on the .63 and .42, the 50 trim is however an Etrim turbo, which is very efficient at low boost levels- got me a 14.50@98.38 in 90 degree heat, IMO they are better than a 16g because the lags helps reduce wheelspin and the size helps top end power....

I dunno too much about the turbo's just yet Im still learning and all but what t/3t/4 do you use in your stage 3 kits motofool?? which would spool up faster and give good respone...(Im a turbo newb stil..)

I take the car driver and the horsepower goals and choose the proper turbo
a bottom of the line stage 2 from me would get a .42 -/63 compress in b trim
a high power car i would put the 57trim t04e turbo unless they wanted more... Bill

You need to decide how much air you are going to need for your particular application. You can look at the maps and decide for yourself. In general terms, the more flow the more lag you will experience. You really need to specify what power goals you want and what you intend on doing with the car(type of racing/driving).
I am a really big fan of the T04E 50 trim compressor map. It is great for low or high boost applications. Look at where 78% efficiency is 8-22psi boost. The map is very broad and its flow steadily increases throughout the map. The Star kit T04E 40 trim flows nearly the same at low boost levels, but then becomes inefficient quick when raising the boost. The 50 trim just keeps steadily increasing flow while staying in the efficient map.
I would use a .63 AR housing with a stage 3 wheel. I think the star uses a stage 1 exhaust wheel if I remember correctly.
If I had a 2.2L stroker, I would use the same 50 trim, but would use a .82 exhaust AR housing. This would be a good way to take advantage of the extra displacement.
