ok guys ... i'm gettin ready to order my 2.2 from fasterthanyou.com and i asked about gettin a 10.5:1 comp. ratio ... can this hold 10 psi + 50/75 shot of nitrous?... if not i'll just go with the 8.8 2.2... i'm also gettin the domestic killa head...i'm goin from stck motor(see sig for mods)auto to a built motor 5-speed ... i just want the nos to keep the local stangs in check...

CAN THIS BE DONE AND HOLD TOGETHER?!?!?

thanks guys

sure. You'll just have to be on the money with your tuning. Ask Nitrous97, he was running that set up for awhile, but decided to go back to low comp.

For my short opinion on high-compression+boost(let alone spraying on top of it).... dont do it, unless you have a dyno and wideband with unlimited tuning time, and the $$$ for an extra motor. cause you will most likely blow one up trying to get it right. You are on the right track having Mace at KLR do the work(he pulled my engine, and put it back in for me) and he knows his stuff. also, ill probably drive up there and help him out if i know when your car is there. point blank, the extra HP from the higher compression is pretty useless, cause of the tuning troubles it causes. it spools the turbo quicker, sure, but if you are wanting a FAST car, go with lower compression. if i was making a low-boost(10psi and lower) daily driver, id use hi-compression. talking to you, you have big HP goals. and high-compression will make it almost impossible to attain them. with the higher compression, i ran slower times at the same boost levels, compared to the low-compression.

yes...u know about the "big" motor plans ... but it will just be a "for now" motor so i dont blow the stock one up(or it lets go)...if ya know what i'm sayin ...and as far as boost i'm not real sure what i wanna run...i said 10psi in the first post but i think i'll run probly 15 with a 50 shot...as i want it to be fast but reliable cas its gettin used for a family car(untill i get my wreck wrx fix(that i just bought for 6,000 bucks))and i'm hook on driving the eclipse...i said i was goin to park it and do everything(body, motor, suspension) to it then bring it back out...but i really dont wanna park it now...got alot of people talkin shit sayin its slow(and yes its slow cas its a bitchamatic)but thats besides the point...

hows 8.8:1 comp ratio 15 psi and 50/75 shot of nitrous sound???

and i'll defantly let ya know when its goin to be at maces...i'm goin to take everything(all my parts and car)to him and let him do everything...and have him dyno tune it then go pick it up(and pay the bill is in there somewhere(might leave that to anthony))

JUST LET ME KNOW WHAT U THINK WILL BE BEST

so i think i got it... hows 2.2 star stage 2 with the domestic killa head and -n-tercooler sound on about 18 psi?

and how much can u boost with the stage2??

Sounds good to me. What kind of nitrous kit? Wet at the least in my opinion, direct port if you can fork out the cash. The star kit comes with an FMU and pump, but I would upgrade to the SFMU, will most likely have better results with that. Also, you may need to look into a timing control suck as the MSD unit, with boost and spray. Also, with higher boost, I would ditch the Deltagate, and look into a better, more reliable wastegate.

I don't have any experience with the Ntercooler, but I'm pretty skeptical. Guess there's only one way to find out.

The T3/T4 will flow more then you'll ever use. Cam Gears should help a bit, as long as you get it dyno tuned. You're gonna want to upgrade that exhaust system ASAP as well. And if you've got the whole thing apart, definately look into putting a stall on that car, then you'll really take advantage of being automatic (heh i guess)

I don't know much about that head, but I think that the stock head is fine, just use it and get the exhaust ports opened up, while leaving the intake ones the same size. Probably way cheaper.

The key to your whole adventure is getting that mother tuned! Otherwise, that motor won't last long.

u should do 3" all the way back..

with nitrous and turbo it would be less of a headache to do 8.8:1 with the juice

ya might want to think about just doing a valve job and maybe some springs in the head and buying axles stall and shift kit upgrade for the tranny...

the head will support 400hp with some cams pretty easy...

that would be a much more solid setup witha built tranny and torque converter then a built head...

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.
If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.
