#56292, "Well I'm sold on HRC's new fuel system..."
I was at Battle of Imports today. Just went to hang out with a couple of friends and check out a few cars, see who was running good.
I saw more cars break at the starting line than I could count. Then I saw Hahn's RS pull up and qualify. One the guy I knew with an NA Neon ran, I went in search of the HRC trailer The guy with the Neon spun a bearing or two later in the day at about 1000 ft. shut it down and coasted across, pulling a 15.1.
I walk of to introduce myself to Bill Hahn, and to watch a wiring problem be sorted out. Bill and the HRC team were awesome, they let me tag along and hang out with everybody. Made me feel welcome by the trailer.
Then With the RS in stage 4 trim, stock ECU and new fuel set up with nitrous. Ran an 11.20 sec. 1/4 mi., at I believe 138.7mph. The other HRC cars having great days for putting some good umbers and setting personal/car records.
The new set up is very nice!
Congratuilations to Bill, his family, and the HRC team! And Thank you very much for letting me hang out with you guys, it was great!
15.9 @ 86.7mph
Smooth idle? We don't need no stinking smooth idle.

>do you know what the new fuel setup is?
Cartech regulator with stock injectors. max fuel pressure is about 300 psi.
LOL... i know people have been trying to figure this question out for a while, but i guess it's still under R&D so Bill doesn't want to say much. low 11's at almost 140 MPH traps means that it's probably a very good fuel system. i'm guessing it's something like 625 cc/min injectors, a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator, and some interesting electronics tweaks to get it working with a factory ECU. it would be REALLY nice to be able to somehow use injectors that large without having to do the 8 injector setup or a DFI. something that i'd buy in less than 2 seconds, if it's proven to work.

Sorry to hijack your thread Micheal. Matt and Kaiser, you guys are da man!
edit* 30 minutes later got a new check valve, but still getting the same symptons. largest disk with silver spring and 30ib injectors with ilde fp at 23psi. Stomp on the gas and car hesitates to where it almsot shuts off and then jumps up and revs to normal with fp jumping to 30psi. Take off check valve and idle fp is about 40psi and car revs fine without any hesitation. wtf?

For the record, it was a 129mph pass, not 138. Don't ask how i know.
