Hey everyone kinda new to the forums, changed my mind about 10 different times on what i should do and cheapest way to do it. Anyone with some knowledge to this subject care to fill me in on best overall direction to go. Just a few ?'s on the 420A engine. Let's say i rebuild the block... ex. put aftermarket pistons/rod's would the engine hold up as good as the gst block? Just want to turbocharge my car but heard that 420a engines tend to break down when tubro'd. Should i have many problems if i were to rebuild to block? And what type of kit would be best, i see star and hahn kits... which is a more efficient buy? .. I want to avoid getting gst engine/tranny / ecu / motor mo unts / exhaust / etc... so any info / feedback on the 420A turboed would be helpful... Or should i buy another 420a block and rebuild it outside my car then when it's done just swap it with old block?

Depends... Do u have a additional car to drive. If not, just buy another block, have it built up, turbo it, whatever, then swap it in when its done. Or u could try to sell your RS, buy a gs-t and already be turbod. But then u might have a hard time trying to sell your car, and might not find the gs-t. So u mise well stick with what u have already. Your choice.

And NO, u cant swap the 4g63 motor in.

Just i see all the turbo'd rs/gs and see that 90% of them pus 7-9psi is that because they didnt build there block? because im lookin to daily drive mine at like 7psi, and have a boost controller set at around 18-19pounds for when i race... are the 420a / 4g63 blocks made from same material or no because when you turbo rs/gs and upgrade the gst/gsx the already turbo'd seem to run faster. why is that/
