ok i got the 2.4 motor and im just trying to work the bugs out of everything its almost all done except the fuel tuning. For fuel management i have 30lbs injectors and a vortech sfmu. Since ive built the motor the car has been running rich. the other day i decided to try to lean it out a little so it can obviously run a little better and i cant get the base/idle pressure to go up or down.

I have read that you need to unhook the vacuum hose to adjust your base fuel pressure. can anyone confirm this?

Yes, be sure you have removed(97+) or disabled(95, some 96's) the stock fuel pressure regulator. Be sure your fuel return line inst kinked, or blocking return fuel flow back to the tank. Open up the SFMU to be sure its together properly, and the diaphram is in good shape- From top lid down- Spring keeper, spring, spring keeper, diaphram, disk/ring (no ring on largest disk, if thats what is used). Be sure the "vacume" screw on the top lid is all the way in(i believe its an allen head screw) Be sure the "boost" screw is all the way in to. Both are on the top lid of the SFMU. If everything checks out, then could be a prob with the SFMU.
