I am looking at a Ball Bearing T-28, 60 trim 60mm BCI-1 compressor in T-04B housing 62 trim 53.8mm T-25 turbine. .64 A/R turbine housing. It has 30,000 miles on it. Would this be a good turbo to start with?

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself...

where the hell is the ceiling?

It'd be okay... not the best to start with IMO. A basic T3 is good to start with. That turbo would be good for a high-reving HP application.

since it is ball bearing, it should spool up very quickly. so I thought it would be good for a 420a application. Is this not right?

quick spool up is nice, but remember we do have constant problems traction

The ball bearing option will help... but .64 A/R on the exhaust side is a bit large for a 2.0L engine IMO. Any turbo will "work"... but choosing just any turbo can make your engine perform in-efficiently (sp?) and even possibly result in engine damage. Carefully compare compressor maps, do some calculations, and pick the turbo that's right for you... it's one of the most important factors in how efficient your engine will be. Efficiency is what turbocharging is all about!

ball bearing does too thins spols about 500rpms faster and last longer...

60-1 for a stage 1 or 2 setup would not be the wisest decision..

a 60-1 flows enough air for a 600+hp dsm....
