Ok I just installed my 1G SMIC (what a bitch), and at first boosted around 4psi (on a star stage 1)... Sooner realized that I needed an MBC, which I got an installed... Wasnt too sure about the install so I put it inbetween my External Delta Wastegate and my compression housing... Now it boosts at 10psi, but not with gettin the engine upto 5.5k RPM... I know that it cant possibly be turbo lag... I shift around 6.5k RPM, so 1k RPMs of boost at 10psi dont really help me much... Did I install the MBC in the wrong spot or somethin because I know this isnt common... right?

does it hit full boost at 5500 or start boosting at 5500?? if its getting full boost at 5500 thats not tooo far off for a t3/4...maybe a bit high....but i suggest that you run the lines this way-> wastgate to MBC directly to the intake manifold leaving the compressor out of the mix...doing this allows the MBC to read a full 10psi(which is too much for a stage 2 t3/4, i don't recomend over 8psi) but it will see a full 10 at the manifold instead of 10psi at the turbo which equates to a 2-3psi loss at the manifold...

5500 RPM for 10 psi of boost is not out of the question on a T3/T4? Jesus christ thats a shitload of turbo lag... I'm hoping to be at full boost somewhere around 3200 rpm with my T3 60 trim.

I guess just try to check all the pipes to see if there are boost leaks, check to see if the tubes for the MBC are tight on, and also try setting the MBC srew all the way out (0PSI) then tune from there by screwing in lil b lil...
see if that makes a difference.
mayeb your IC leaks? just some thoughts... good luck man...

unless you have a really small turbine on that t3 then your not gonna see full boost that low...lag is relative and fiarly dependant on the size of the turbine....i have a t3/4 50trim with a .63 AR turbine and i don't hit boost untill into the 3's and full boost in the high 4's....and if your t3 has that size turbine then you're gonna be looking at the same....my 14b in my talon doesn't even hit full boost until into the low 4's....so don't be dissapointed when your at that level

That sucks about so much lag. My girlfriends WRX hits like 13 psi almost instantly anywhere above 3000 rpm, and theres guys in here that can't get 10 psi at 5000 rpm... how gay. Are our intake and exhaust systems that inneficient?

Sounds like you've got a big boost leak. I'd check that first...

Turbo lag is the time it takes to go from no boost to full boost. Boost threshold is the RPM at which you can reach full boost. So it sounds like your boost threshold is 5500 RPM. If you're at or above 5500 RPM and step on it, how long does it take to get to full boost? Thats turbo lag.
Anyway 5.5k threshold is pretty high man. Definately check for a boost leak.

try plumbing the wastegate further away from the turbo (vacume line) u may not be getting an accurate reading...
and u gota boost leak..

yes 10 psi is pushing it on such a large turbo, your flowing more then a 16g would at that pressure. Be carefull.
What size turbo is on that wrx? If im on the highway i can hit full bost instantly as most can. I start spooling a bit before 3 sometimes even at 2.7. just depends.
