I'm new to the club, and I just would like to say that I'm quite impressed with the knowledge available here, particularly in the Nitrous/Turbo thread. I'm not an eclipse owner, I drive a v6 sebring, but the info has still been very applicable.

I'm very new to the nitrous scene, and I'm looking for some info on the actual use of nitrous. I've got all the components sitting in my basement, and I've got a resident expert over at ASEC to help me install my Venom kit next week. I've been reading old posts for here for quite some time, but I still need some basic answers to questions like when to spray and when not to, how frequently I can/should spray, etc. Anyone have any advice, or know of any good reads?

I know you should only spray when your at Wide Open Throttle (WOT) As for how often I think I would personally wait between shots for you engine to cool to a normal temp (if it get hot at all) You want a more prefessinal opinion on that though. Good luck with you project!

Actually, when the nitrous splits, the nitrogen cools your engine. It's the high revving that creates heat.

...and yes, only squeeze at WOT.

Does the Venom kit come with a WOT switch? I know the NOS kit does.

I disagree. The venom system is a great system. It is computer controlled and attaches to your car and monitors your Air/Fuel ratio keeping the car safe from reaching a lean state. It pulses the stock injectors for extra fuel when it activates keeping the ratio within safe parameters. Being computer controlled makes it safer and easier to use, unlike the NOS system which only uses a mechanical switch to activate the system. Good choice with the venom system.

The NOS wet kit uses an electrical switch to activate the system. If you have an a/f gauge you can see when you hit WOT that the mixture is very rich which is good/or better than leaning out.
