#54334, "A weak link in my fuel system?"

The guy at Auto Zone (I'm beginning to hate that place) talked me into buying regular rubber 1/4 I.D. fuel line for my return line from my SFMU back to my tank. It's rated at 50 psi so I'm starting to doubt that it's going to hold. I'll be running about 6 psi of boost on stock injectors. And I have AN -4 line from my test port to my smfu and using the stock hard feed line all being feed b a walbro 255LPH in tank fuel pump. So should I change the line to fuel injection hose or am I good to go? When is the line going to see the most pressure? At idle when the SFMU is bleeding off the excess?

50 psi is more than enough for a return line

i think 50psi, will be fine, you gotta remmber , that line is designed to hold 50 psi in a closed circuit, since this is a dump tube, that line could probally flow 100+ psi's in a open circuit type deal, i wouldnt worry about it, unless you plan on puttin a cork on the other in emoji

LOL

I don't install nor recommend installing rubber fuel line along the bottom of a car. If it gets snagged or dragged it has a fair chance of being damaged. You should really consider using aluminum hard line, that's what it's for... and it's CHEAP!

When I got my turbo kit from Hahn I didn't get the aluminum fuel line it's supposed to have. Instead, I ran a 8' 5/16 50psi return fuel line from the fuel rail back to the tank with no problems. If you look under the car at the fuel rails, you'll see a strip of metal to the wheel side of the car that runs the length of the car just beside the fuel rails. You can nestle a return line just between that the outer-most fuel rail with no worries of it getting snagged. It's completely protected, unless of course your planning on going off-roading over some rough terrain - which would make you not very smart 2gnter emoji I actually like this method better b/c it's less connections. emoji

yeah...that's basicaly what I did and I've got it zip tied up there pretty darn good so I'm not worried about it snaging....but I'm considering upgrading in the near furture anyway...this will get me going for now.

Yeah, I upgraded my setup too, I changed ALL of my fuel lines to steel braided ones. It cost me a bit, but I sleep better at night.
