#54199, "HRC FMIC, how much dremel/bumper hacking involved?"

i'm probably getting mine in sometime this week. according to brad or whatever his name is at HRC, it was sent out last friday.

so how do i install the thing? i guess it'll be pretty straight forward. i heard of people having issues with clearnace with the bumper support thingy. i really don't want to take it out in case i ever get into an accident (knock on wood, i've never been in an accident before) so the chances of damage to my $1100 piece of engineering won't be too high.

I had to trim about 3 inches to get mine to fit. That is with the smiley face bumper though.

yea, i had to cut a lot out of the bumper. it looks good and clean though. i had to modify the drivers side vent thing (next to the stock fog light holder to fit the IC piping as well. it took me a lot of work hehe, but it looks good! i used a pneumatic cutting wheel for most, and a hand held belt sander thing to smooth things out and make it look stock - no jagged or crooked edges. i had to cut out a lot more than i thought i would have to to make it fight and not rub.

as for the 5mph bumper thing, use a circular saw to hack it up. i used xtremers jig saw, and now i owe him a new blade lol. it was like trying to cut it with a butter knife.

this is on the 97 plus bumper by the way.

THE BIGGER THE HOLE THE BETTER IT LOOKS. ALSO, POLISH THAT IC, IT'LL MAKE YOU NUT.

Always console a girlfriend in the death of a cat. Even if secretly you are the one who set it on fire and threw it into the ceiling fan.
