#53943, "missing link with 8 injector setup???"

Does the missing link have anything to do with the 8 injector setup? I'm just curious to know if I need both or if somehow the 034 EFI controller would work ok by itself. Also, I have a SAFC II also, does this need to be installed to tune the 034 injector controller and the extra injectors?

Ok, does anybody know about the missing link? If I need it or not with the 8 injector setup?

You don't "need" it with the 8-injector setup. But with a 96+ 2GNT, you better have some sort of boost blocking device with your stock MAP sensor.

Choices are as follows:

- Missing Link
- HRC Fuel Mapper
- Split Sec VC1 or VC2
- Some custom device (check valve or zenier diode)

It's not the 8 injector setup which requires the use of the above, it's the turbo (the reason for acquiring the 8-inj setup in the first place) which creates positive displacement that does.

Well I have a 95 GS so I wouldn't need it then? What is different as far as the MAP sensor goes for the 95 and the 96+?

96+ ECU gives fuel cut when it sees boost. The 95 doesn't.

A '95 car won't need the missing link to prevent fuel cut. You can buy one if you don't want to subject your MAP sensor to pressures that it was not designed to see. I plan to run more boost later in life, so I bought a ML to protect my MAP. I also ran fine for 2 years before I bought the ML.
