LAST EDITED ON 20-May-01 AT 04:02 PM (PST)

OK all ya fellow modders check this out, and then tell me that I am insane!

IDEA 1 (My crazy brainchild)

Say I got FOUR 440cc injectors and replaced my stock ones....
THEN I got my STOCK injectors and tapped one on each fuel runner. Then I proceeded to hook up the stock injectors in Parallel to the wiring harness along with a suitable resistor to keep the overally impedance the same (so that the PCM would see no difference).

Still with me... NOW, then, I hook the four stock injectors up to an RPM/BOOST activated switch and they TURN on when needed, and the SAFC is tuned accordingly!

IDEA 2 (For people on a really tight budget - all of us!)

Buy four more stock injectors, drill and tap them into the fuel rail runners, and then hook them up to the wiring harness along with an appropriate resistor for each one, in order to keep the overall impedance identical to stock.

So basically you will have eight injectors working together in "pairs"

Result: 2x235cc = 470cc injectors for close to nothing!

IDEA 3 (Not really my idea)

5th injector........

Say I got FOUR 440cc injectors and replaced my stock ones.... And then I drilled and tapped into the Intake manifold and installed a 640cc injector.

Now the trick is that the 5th injector comes on at 6psi (boost activated switch) and stays wide open....

Then all that you have to do is lean out the SAFC and Voila! Good Idle and PLENTY of fuel....

Of course you could have the injector come on at 3000rpm instead more like an RPM activated switch....

The only thing I see about this last idea is that unless you are carefull about placement and size, you could end up with a pool of gas inside the manifold. What about a REBIC fuel injector controller? How much are these? Could save on a hell of a headache...

Rebic, sounds familiar, anyone care to refresh my memory?

As for the pool of gas, well I believe that the turbo boost pressure should more than take care of that, especially with the engine sucking air in!

BTW the 3rd idea is a proven and fully working method.. Its the first two that I really am wondering about...

Theres no way..my car would idle with 600's but ran like ass with them...just way to much fuel..it will bog down, foul your plugs, and develop no power what so ever...theres only one solutoin to this..and this is the route i am going to take..im gonna run the hrc stage v fuel system with the accel dfi setup..even though I have a star kit, it should still work.

Their are several additional injector controllers (AIC) from GReddy/HKS ect that would save you the headache as mentioned. FMAX kits use a AIC to supply fuel to their turbo kits. Most can control at least 2 or more additional injectors. Almost all of the controllers if not all are rpm and/or boost indexed (adjustable) to come on line only when needed. I see your theory (wonderful stock like idle and low speed driveability and race car fuel supply when the additional injectors kick in). The way you want to do it is gonna be costly and creative (mounting them in the manifold like stock. Seems like you'll need another fuel rail, fuel supply to it and possibly return set up). I know alot of tuners dont like the additional injectors in the intake tract set up. Anyway its just something else to ponder

Well, I dont know how you're going to do that. As of now, HRC isnt selling that separately. I personally will be going the Haltech route after I rebuild my engine.
