I was interested in knowing how much the Accel DFI unit, or any onther product that might address my timing issues. As well as if you would do the install and tunning. I currently have the following mods on my 95 RS eclipse (OBD1).
HRC Stage 2
8:5.1 Wiesco pistons w/rings
Crower rods
Apex'i S-AFC
RC 440 injectors
2"1/2 custom I/C piping
GReddy FMIC
GReddy ProfecB Boost controller (on its way)
GReddy Turbo timer (on its way)
GReddy S-Type BOV
Custom 2"1/2 Downpipe and exhaust system
MSD DIS-2 ignnition w/ tach addapter. (no timing retard box)
I have looked into the options that MSD offers and am not quite sold on them. Please let me know my best safest options that will give me the most for my set up.
I have also e-mailed you at your Sales address but thought you might see it here first. emoji Thanks HRC

HRC uses the MSD dis-2 for timing issues on the higher-end turbosystems.

Bring it on............

MSD sells a very similiar setup to this.

http://www.cranecams.com/ignition1/hi6di2a.htm

it uses a map sensor that retards the timing under boost. It is the same setup that the stage V kit runs if i am not mistaken. I have never really seen one in person to be able to tell you the truth. But, i believe through emails i have had with HRC, that is what they told me. It seems like a very good solution to having too much advance under boost for you people who want to just use 440's and an S-AFC and don't want to go full standalone, or even if you go with the accel, you will still need it, since it won't be able to controll our direct fire ignitions.

Also, I believe the Accel DFI runs Peak and Hold injectors.

I have been out of town racing. It appears that I have spoiled you fellows in the past with instant responses! I have to tell ya, there will be periods where duties such as racing or development keep me away from the computer for a few days. However, you did email our Sales department, which referred you to Tech Support, which is what they are instructed to do. No lack of interest, just following orders! Even when I am not scanning this board, or responding within hours to emails, Tech Support is available daily over the phone (provided I am not out of town, which does happen regularly during racing season).

Your best bet for tech assistance is any one of the following:

Email me directly: eng@turbosystem.com
Or, email tech@turbosystem.com. I do not retrieve this email personally, but those that require my assistance are forwarded to me.
If you would like quick help, pick up the phone! It may seem antiquated in this computer crazy world, but the phone is still the quickest method of achieving tech support. I simply cannot perform all of my duties while parked in front of the computer! But I do take these calls daily, every afternoon, as many quite satisfied customers can attest.

I will email you directly with answers to your original questions about timing retard. Any other HRC customers who have similar questions can contact me for personal assistance (with these or other questions) using any of the methods outlined above. We are SO there for you!

I am very understanding about the not being able to answer daily on the board. Your help has always been appreciated from me as well as a lot of others here. I was referimg to the short answer to a question that I am sure requires a little more in depth one. I will patiently await the reponse to the original question, and thank you in advance for it.

Without your testing and tuning etc. Your turbo products would not be the first class systems that they are.

I personally find it great that you even take the time to post on a board like this. Most manufacturers don't bother. While a turbo is a ways down the road for me. When I make the decision to install a turbo, I have seen nothing that would deture me from buying one from HRC. Plus you're in the next town emoji

I look forward to meeting you in person at the shootout, and seeing what your RS has up her sleeve this time around. and Bill, how often to you go to Route 66 to test?

We will be heading out there soon with the RS, or perhaps out to Byron in the next couple of weeks.
