#53402, "S-FMU help please"

Hello guys.
I have a little problem.
Okay this isn't on my car but a Sebring, we just got finished putting the forged Ross pistons/Eagle rods in and doing an entire rebuild.
Now we are junking the Carcrap fmu and upgraded to the Vortech SFMU.
We are using stock injectors for now!!! Just to get the thing up and running.
However, how are we supposed to get this thing working right? The car starts and just dies!
Disk size?
Screw turns?
Any help will be appreciated.
And I did use the search function and my results yeilded a negitory on any help.
Thanks,

-Danny

If it was my car of course it would have a FP Gauge but sadly enough this on doesn't. The vaccum hose is hooked up like the directions say, I tested for vac/boost leak, and that yeilded a negitive.
Any suggestions on which disk/washer looking thing to use of the SFMU?

with the stock injectors you should be able to just hook up the sfmu as it came from the factory ( biggest disk and regular spring) and the car should idle fine and you would only need to do some adjustments to the top screw.
but since the car does not even idle your problem could be that the unit is not installed right or the problem could lie somewhere else, fuel pump (does it prime?) wires, plugs, etc.

I cant believe all the money spent to turbo that car, and there isnt even a fuel pressure gauge emoji For the love of god, get a gauge! IMO, its pointless to even touch the SFMU without one. You're tuning blind.. Largest disk, short dark spring, and idle fuel pressure around 45-50 psi.

LOL,,,,,,,,

that reminds me. the first day i got the sfmu installed, i still didn't have the fp gauge in but thought the car started. i felt weird cause i know that the fuel must be way off so i didn't drive the car. next day the fuel pressure gauge was installed and whatdayaknow!!! the idle fp was 22 psi on stock injectors!!! needless to say get the fuel pressure, your tuning blindly.

thanks to whodatt also for the great sfmu write up!!!

Yes, without a fuel pressure gauge it is hopeless.
