#53258, "5psi+1600deg.=WTF I need some help"

I did a couple of hard pulls today for the first time since I have been back and had some strange results. I was only running 5psi and my egt's climbed quickly into the 15's then at close to 1600 I had to let off the throttle. This seems strange at only 5psi of boost, and my a/f guage was reading at the first block into the rich side. Then cruising in 5th at 70mph the egt's were 1300 and 80mph they were 1400. Do these numbers at cruising speeds sound right I can't remember what they were before but they seem kinda high? Do you have any ideas what it can be? I have some 30lb injectors ready to go in and want to know if I have a big problem. Thanks for any help

What are your fuel pressures at 5 psi?? What type of FCD are you using- the HRC wire type, or the Missing Link check valve?? First green on the A/F gauge is too lean..you should be around the last, or second to last green led..EGT's should remain around no more than 1550 with the right amount of fuel..maybe a bit lower. I like to stay around 1525 myself.

I did not get to check what my fuel press was under boost because I have a mechanical guage, however my idle press is 50. I was using the hrc fcd a while back but I diconnected it a long time ago when I thought it was messing things up. Then after dsconneting it the car has ran fine so I do not think that is the problem. Also I thought that it would be to rich if the a/f guage was maxed out. I thought that it looked good at only one block into the rich. What are the volts roughly at that block? Well today I will try to pull my guage out from under the hood and get some numbers out this afternoon. It has been a long time but I should expect to get arround 70 psi of fuel at 5psi boost right? Well I will check it out thanks,
Patrick

If you have the blinky autometer gauge and your on the first green led on it at WOT you are running wayyy lean.

with stock injectors you should be around 90psi of fuel pressure at 5lbs of boost. your crusing temps are good though emoji

Sorry for the stupid thought on my gay autometer bliny guage. I thouht that the first green light in the rich side was good. I will check for some pinched fuel lines too. Thnks guys

Oh man I feel like a dumbass, I fixed the problem. The power wire from my inline fuel pump became disconected so there was just the stock pump. I was sitting in the car warming it up before work and realized I did not hear the second LOUD pump. I hooked it all up and did a few runs and it was nice. I did a few high speed runs slightly over the speed limit emoji and it dd not go over 1500deg. Looks like I am back in the game. Now time for my new parts! Once agains thanks, I knew I was going to forget something real easy like this.
