I believe all the engines from FTY are made by VT Engines, and there are plenty of people with those.

I know the people who run FTY. You will have NO worries at all. And yes, the motors are built by VT Engines.

CP pistons are bette then JE and weisco..

CP is a upper end scale pistons manufactuer they use the top of the line machinery and have much tighter clearances then JE or weisco does,

they have a very nice piston top finishing machine to keep hot spots away...

Bill

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.
If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.

I also know (an am good friends with) the owner of FTY. I guarentee you that you will have no problems with them. Also, as stated above, all of the motors will come straight from VT.

CP Pistons are great, but you might want to veryify that they are going to use CP's and not JE's. Last time I talked to nick he said they are going to use JE's on all the 420a blocks from now on. And if you want CP's you have to pay the differance. just a heads up, because i know even VT's web site still says CP's.

Just a little update. From now on all of the FTY VT shortblocks will come with CP pistons with no additional cost.

Most good forged pistons are noisy when cold. The cp's aren't any different as far as that goes. The reason they are noisy is because good forged pistons have a high expansion rate. On turbo cars you have to run a lot of piston to wall clearance. The more you turn up the boost, the more the piston grows, You would'nt want you piston getting seized in the bore emoji Stock "cast" pistons don't have this problem because the metal dosen't "grow" But with that, they are prone to fail..

That's why the sound of piston slap on a cold morning doesn't bother me. I'm more likely to melt one than seize it in the bore emoji

i've been confused about how FTY operates for a while now, because it seems like it'd be soemthing i'd be interested in doing.

Do they Send you a completely new/built engine? or do you send yours in, they build it up and ship it back??

soon to be a RS-T

We can do both of those options. If you send us your block to work on, there is no core charge though. If we build a block for you and send it to you, there is a core charge that you must pay up front. Once you get your new motor installed, you send your old block and crank back to us and we will refund the core charge in full.

I am seriousely looking into getting the 2.4 serialkiller block but i want to know what kind of work i should expect to do to make it fit. That and I want to know how a stage III from HRC would be on this block.

yea i definatley like being able to just order a block and pay the core charge... i live in hawaii so with shipping it might be cheaper to just pay the core and not worry about sending my old block back an stuff.

If I were to get the 2.0L FTY block, what else would need to be upgraded to safely boost about 12psi with a Star turbo system? Or do you think that it would be cheaper to individually upgrade some internals to handle 12psi? Thanks.

The only thing you would need to upgrade would be your fuel setup. Just choose from the many different options of adding more fuel and you'll be all set. You would be able to safely run 17 psi daily if you want to on pump gas. Thats what I do emoji.

the stock head can handle 425 hp with little or no modifications. ARP head studs help and so do valve springs, etc... but yea, a stock head can handle it. i guess they were designed by lotus emoji
