ok...well after finding what caused the demise of my turbo(oil return pinched in half) and fixing the problem, the new 57 trim turbo still WILL NOT BOOST....there are no leaks ANYWHERE, they wastegate is not leaking, no leaks on the exhaust, no leaks on the turbo and no leaks anywhere in the IC piping...so why the hell won't it boost??? what could cause it to do this....the turbo spins freely....i am so damn frustrated, this is seriously going to make a grown man cry

The wheels only go on one way. They're bigger on one side (exducer) and smaller on the other (inducer).
Dude, i swear you've got a freakin boost leak. there is no other way. Pressure test your intake piping, you'll find it, i promise.

Hmmmm...I experienced similar problem after my rebuild. The car runs fine, except, there's no boost. I checked for leaks and couldn't find any. I even sent the turbo back to HRC and they determined it was fine. Finally, after about three agonizing weeks, I removed the front bumper to check my fmic and I discovered that one of the i/c coupler was loose, and the clamp was just dangling.
Do a leak test.

the thing is, if it were a leak, you'd still hear the turbo spooling. if it's not spooling then it's gotta be sonething with the turbo/exhaust itself.
are you sure you don't have a huge exhaust leak in the mani or something before the turbo?

now i dont have a star downpipe in front of me but id bet that the turbo need to have the wastegate hole (for interngate) welded up or plugged...
cause if that was blowing the air out into the downpipe or leaking it would never build boost...
Bill
You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.
If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good. If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast. If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.
