well got the new turbo from motofool today, got done hooking up, primed it and let it idle for a few minutes....go for a drive and give it some gas and NO GODAMN BOOST!....first i figured it was an IC pipe or something not hooked up, checked it all and its fine....with the car sitting i rev the engine and i can hear the turbo spool and the BOV will go off, but while i drive no boost and no BOV....WHAT GIVES....dammnit i am so ready to yank it all off and sell the damn kit.....on top of it all its burning oil, not nearly as bad as before, but i think the damn return line is fucked and backing the oil up in the turbo....

is your wastegate stuck open?

Take the turbo off and install it on your lawn mower!

Try taking off the vacume signal to the wastegate see if you can build boost. When you do this be carefull, your wastegate will not open and you would boost too much very quickly. If you have an external wastegate I don't know much about them.. sorry.

yep, sounds like the wastegate is stuck open....you would have to have one HUGE ass boost leak to build no boost pressure at all, and you would def hear that for sure...check your wastegate..If the turbo is spooling and spinning with the motor running, then you should be building boost. If the wastegate is stuck open, all the exaust gasses are being directed away from the exaust turbine..and that makes you build no boost pressure..

Does your turbo have an internal wastegate on it too? If so you need to weld it shut and let the external one do it job. Just a guess.....

Sorry to hear about that. I've been doing ok with my ghetto ass turbo. I'm leaking exhaust from damn near everywere. I have an internal WG.

I had to trim part of the bracket that supports the wastegate because it was digging into my return line. Also my oil return line is huge (well like 1/2in) and was rubbing the actuator to the wastegate flapper. I just had to move my clamp (on oil return line) up a little higher to clear everything.

oh, do you have an exhaust leak? I've got a pretty bad leak and I have a hard time making boost unless I really get on it.

Just something to consider.
