I have a GS with a T3T4 turbo and Greddy FMIC and Type S BOV, im running about 6-7 pounds of boost as of now and my BOV doesn't make the PSSSSST that I always hear. It makes more of a studdering ta ta ta. Am I running the BOV to Hard? or is it because im only running about 6-7 pounds? Any suggestions would be great !

its making that studder because the BOV isn't opening...check your vac feed to it...oh and that studdering is bad...thats the air bouncing off the compressor wheel because it has nowhere to go since the BOV isn't working..

also check all your intercooler pipings if its come apart your bov will do that. also try adjusting your bov some.

or it could be becuse you aren't boosting enough. just gettin bov sputter cuz not enough boost.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.

Yeah make it a bit softer. You want it just hard enough so that it wont leak ( not a prob with 7 psi) but loose enough to pop open (boy am i thinking dirty today...wheres my girl):9

Im running the same setup. Jamesman said to hook up the vacume port to the lower port on the type S and it sounds nicer... I have yet to try that , but if you do let me know how it works out.

if you do choose to hook up the power port then the valve will open faster. you have to seal the lower chamber with o-rings if you want to use the lower port. This mod is only good up to like 12 psi after that the valve leaks. The best way to adjust the bov is to start your car and let it idle for a little till the vac stabilizes. Then loosen the sdjustment screw all the way. start tightening the screw until the valve closes all the way and then add another 1/4 turn. This should make things nice. Also, i found a secret. The main hose fitting on the greddy valve on the top purple thing has a very small diameter. Go buy a brass 1/8 npt hose barb from home depot and replace the fitting. it makes the valve react much faster becasue it allows the air to be sucked out alot faster.

I believe the spring on the BOV is set a bit "hard." Even if you're only boosting 6-7 psi, it should still blow off nicely. Oh, and the flutter sound isn't good. That's probably boost back pressure caused from the stiff bov setting.

yes adjust your screw on top..soften it up..if you're only boosting 6-7 psi it should be pretty soft..cause compressor surge = bad.
