As some may know I have a MSD DIS-2 and so far have not realy played with it. Well I have been told that MSD sells a Boost dependant timing control unit that will retard my timimg in conjunktion with boost preasure. This is a must in able to run high boost and be tuned to the most gains possible. I am in the process of having RRE looking into this and getting a cost for this item, The part # is 6562. I will keep everyone posted. If someone already has this or knows about it, please let me know what you know.

I went in circles with mine about a month or so ago . if you notice in all the adds from msd, they say "works with distributorless ignition amplifiers i.e. Dis-4, etc...." well, I called MSD tech, and asked them "this thing says it is for the Dis-4....can I use it with my Dis-2 HO?" of course, they say "yes, you can". I am like "cool" so I go to Barnett performance and I buy one...............one problem....Dis-4's plug is DIFFERENT and would not hook up to the dis-2. So I called up MSD tech again, and told them "hey, somebody there said that part number 6562 would work with my dis-2HO. " they say "yeah, it is for DIS cars" I was like.....well. I am not sure if you know or not, but the dis-4's harnes is different than the dis-2, and they won't plug into each other, of which their replay was "oh crap, you are right". the guy at tech said he woudl make me a harness to plug it into my dis-2, and sent it to me free of charge . He did just that. I got the harness.........half of it was wrong they had one male to female commector, and another male to male connector (of course, that wouldn't work) so I took out a spare bypass plug (from my old Dis-2 HO that bit the dust) and hard-wired that end on myself. I THEN could plug up the module to my ignition amp . I have mine hidden under the carpet (with the carpet insulation removed around it). MuRiX was in town when I was doing this, so he saw the whole ordeal.

OH yeah, and another thing I forgot, unless it is imposible to do so, you are probably better off buying MSD stuff from someone local that stocks it that respect's msd's waranty.........shipping parts across the country when they break takes too long for me......and after having my msd short out on me after only a week, I will never order another msd part from far away again (took 6 weeks to get me another one because the company I ordered from didn't even stock them)

so tell me Armond, how hard is this instalation going to be? Do you have any pics or instructions you could send this way?
Also I assume you have the tach addapter right? if so can you tell me what wires go where, since the shop that did the install failed to install the tach addapter. Also what settings are you running on the MSD? rev and all.

The tach adapter is super easy to install. on the main harness of the dis-2, you will notice that the sending trigger lines from the coil have bullet connectors close to the msd. the tach adapter just plugs into those. make sure the colors match (white to white, green to green) and plug the connectors together (they only co one way, so you can't get it backwards) then plug up the power for the tach adapter to the bullet connector on the red line on your msd harness. The main harness on the boost retard controller is supposed to be plug and play with the dis-4 (if you get tech to make you a special adapter, it should still be plug and play.....just make sure they do it right, or else you might have a little soldering to do). The boost retard module will handle all the timing retard features once you get it, so all the timing retard on the dis-2 are at 0. As far as I know, it will also do launch and max rev limit as well (car is still lacking motor, so I am not sure...I could be wrong). all your basic dis-2 settings stay the same 'though. the only wires you will need to hook up on the BTM is ground, dark blue wire goes to the DIS blue wire, orange/yellow wire goes to your shift light (yeah, it does that too ), Pink wire goes to yoru first timing retard device (i.e. if you want your timing retarded when you hit NOS, you hook up this wire to your solenoids), dark brown wire goes to the second retard device, and tan wire goes to the third retard device. I have no pics becuase I am a slacker and don't take pictures of much of anything I do (it's hard enough to get me to do the work heheheheh).
