#52644, "Anyone know the best exhaust manifold?"

Guys, help me!. Eversince I got my car, I've been having problems with my exhaust manifold being warped or leaking. Whats the deal with this? I havn't even had my turbo for 2 months yet and it's already warped. Anyone, I had gasket problems, change it to stock. Then it blew again, changed it. So i finally bought TTI racing's copper gasket, then when i put it on, i notice my manifold was warped! So I had it resurface. So it was good for 1 week, checked it everyday. Then finally, I heard the engine was a little bit too loud. So when the car was cooled down, I put my hand under the manifolds on the corners where the leaks usually were, and push my auto start botton. And i feel hot air coming out which never happened when i got the car back 1 week ago. So yeah, I need help finding a good manifold. I just think HRC's stainless steel is wack. I'm thinking about cast. Give me some details besides STAR, which I can't use because of the external wastegate flange. Thank you for your time! and sorry it was long emoji . i just want this shit to be over with.

I'm pretty sure that Star makes the only cast manifold. You could just block off the wastegate flange though.

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.

WTF! I'm so goddamn pissed off at this gay exhaust manifold. Again it's leaking. What's the deal? I just got the kit 2 months ago and already went through 4 stock gaskets (multilayered) and 1 copper which im using now. The copper seals pretty good when the car is hot and been driven around. But when before driving the car, when I warm it up, you can hear the leak. I hate the sound. Can anyone tell me your "SECRET" on keeping your manifold LEAK FREE?! I want this BS to stop. I spend all my time and money just trying to fix a leak. And oh yeah, the manifold was just resurfaced 2 weeks ago. Worked out fine the first few days until I raced again. Then the next morning I notice a leak. Someone tell me what to do.....pleaseeee emoji

What are you using to hold the manifold to the head? Bolts or studs? Do you think they would be coming loose? Because if you just had the flange resurfaced, there's no reason why it would be leaking unless you can't get it tight against the head. Or maybe the head is warped, but I doubt that.

I wish someone made an exhaust manifold like this one for our cars....

Oh shit I want that manifold... So yeah, I'm using 4G63 studs. But for some reason, they get loose. I tightened them good but not too tight because one time, I over tightened it and I stripped the thread inside the head. Now I have a 10mm stud instead of the regular 8mm. What nuts do you guys use? And oh yeah, my head is not warped because after my resurface, I stuck my hand and felt around the manifold if it was leaking (when the car was on) and I didn't feel nothing. But then I after I raced the car, the next morning and before leaving, i started up the car and I stuck my hand around under the manifold, I felt a leak. I tightened the bolts to see if stops but it didn't. So it must be my manifold again! its warped and i just resurfaced it.

you do know hrc has 2 versions of their manifold, right? and that the first one was known to have a few problems... you might call bill jr. and ask him, or search the forum for old talk about it...
